Dr. Nurul Aida Binti Noor Azizi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya. Prior to joining academia, she served for over 17 years as a librarian and administrator at Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), where she rose to the position of Deputy Chief Librarian. Throughout her tenure, she held key leadership roles across multiple functional divisions, including Research Support and Reference Services, Collection Development and Resources, Quality Assurance and Governance, and Talent Development, providing her with a comprehensive foundation in both operational excellence and strategic library administration.

She holds a Diploma and Bachelor of Science in Information Management and Resource Centre Management from Universiti Teknologi MARA, a Master of Science in Information Management also from UiTM, and obtained her PhD in Library and Information Science from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya, supported by a Ministry of Higher Education scholarship. Her doctoral research offered a fundamental reorientation in how Library and Information Science education understands professional formation, advancing original arguments on the role of structured experiential learning in shaping competent and identity-grounded library professionals, and contributing an original framework with far-reaching implications for curriculum reform, institutional policy, professional accreditation, and the preparation of next-generation library and information professionals.

She is actively engaged in teaching, research, and student supervision within the Library and Information Science programme. Her areas of expertise span information behaviour, academic librarianship, and information and digital literacy, with research interests encompassing information management, information literacy, academic libraries, user education, and qualitative research. She is a Certified ATLAS.ti Professional Trainer, reflecting her proficiency in qualitative data analysis methodologies.

She has published in reputable peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, Library Hi Tech, and the Journal of Information Science, and collaborates with multidisciplinary research teams across Malaysia and internationally. She also serves as a peer reviewer for journals including the Journal of Information Science(SAGE Publications) and Jurnal Pustaka Ilmiah (Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia). Beyond research, she brings to academia extensive professional credentials, including ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Lead Auditor certification and recognition as a Graduate Technologist by the Malaysia Board of Technologists.
