Dr Nikmatul Adha obtained her Bachelor and Masters degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia in the field of Urban and Regional Planning.  She was awarded with a doctoral degree from USM in 2011 in the field of social and physical planning. She started her career as Research Officer in USM, served a stint as Research Executive at a private consultant firm before settling for an academic career in Universiti Malaya since 2004 until present.  She teaches Urban Management and Community Development Planning and various planning studio courses. She is a Graduate Member of the Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP).  Her research interest is on participatory urban planning, tourism planning and community development planning and has written a few books and academic articles related to her fields of interests. She has been invited as speaker, forum panellist at national conferences and as visiting lecturer at Nanjing University Jinling  College.  In terms of administrative duites, she is currently the Coordinator for PhD Mixed Mode programme for the Faculty of Built Environment.  She has over 6 years of experience serving as the Head /Coordinator of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and also serving as UM Internal Auditor.
