Kim-Leng Goh is appointed as Honorary Professor at the Department of Economics and Applied Statistics, Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Malaya after his retirement from his professorial position at the same department. He received his degrees of Bachelor of Economics (Statistics) and Master of Economics from the University of Malaya, and PhD from Monash University (Australia). During his service, he held various academic administrative positions. He was the Deputy Dean of Higher Degree of FEA from September 2016-January 2018, and he held the same position from 2007-2012. He was the Head of Department of Applied Statistics, FEA from 2006-2007 and in 2020. From 2013-2016, he was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Global Planning & Strategy Centre under the Chancellery to assist the university in strategic planning and world university rankings. He served as the Editor of Malaysian Journal of Economic Studies (indexed in Scopus and ESCI) for about 20 years. He is an Advisor to the Capital Markets Review, and an editorial board member of the International Journal of Services, Economics and Management. He was also an editorial board member of the International Journal of Modelling in Operations Management. His areas of expertise include econometrics, financial econometrics, modeling and applied finance. He has published about 90 papers in refereed academic journals. He is currently supervising 5 PhD candidates, and more than 20 PhD candidates under his supervision have completed their studies.  

Dr. Sabri Sulaiman is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Anthropology and Sociology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. Dr. Sabri Sulaiman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Administration and Justice with a minor in anthropology and sociology, a Master’s in Social Intervention, and a PhD in Social Services, all from the University of Malaya (UM). His academic journey has been marked by a consistent commitment to vulnerable and marginalised populations, with his Master’s thesis focusing on Social Deprivation and the Social Well-being of Malaysian Children, and his PhD research contributing to the development of a Community-Based Social Care Model for Street-Connected Children. Dr. Sabri has collaborated with and consulted for government agencies, including the National Population and Family Development Board (NPFDB) or LPPKN. Dr. Sabri has developed a multidisciplinary approach that bridges social care, social work, social services, sociology, social policy, social justice, social intervention, and behavioural sciences. Using mixed methods, his current research interests and primary work focus on:  Analysing and responding to global and local challenges affecting the well-being of marginalised and vulnerable children and families, including those affected by poverty, child labour, trafficking, disability, homelessness, statelessness, racism, and juvenile justice involvement. Examining how poverty, structural exclusion, and systemic inequalities affect the mental health, developmental outcomes, and behavioural trajectories of children and families. Strengthening governance structures, social care systems, disability policies, inclusive education, and social protection frameworks to enable vulnerable and marginalised children, families, and groups to have equitable access to essential services. Promoting justice and rights-based approaches to child protection through the evaluation of legal and policy frameworks at both national and international levels. Combating inequalities in social care and unmet needs for care, health and education disparities, social class, abuse and maltreatment through evidence-based interventions and policies that prioritise child and family well-being, as well as other vulnerable and marginalised groups. Evaluating the effectiveness of intervention models and social care policies to foster accountability, sustainability, and long-term impact. Dr Sabri welcomes expressions of interest and collaboration on any of the following areas.  Beyond academia, he is actively involved in applied research, collaboration and consultancy, particularly with ministries, government agencies, international organisations, and marginalised communities. His work reflects a deep commitment to addressing societal challenges through rigorous research, practical interventions, and impactful intervention and policy development. He is currently leading several major research initiatives, including "A Study on Risk Behaviours in At-Risk Adolescents in Malaysia" and "Creating Inclusive Digital Education for Students with Disabilities in Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia." He is also authoring two forthcoming books, namely "Social Care for Street Children in Malaysia" and "Sociology Perspective on Justice and Care of Vulnerable Children and Families: Issues, Policy, and Intervention."  His work is internationally recognized, and he holds memberships in various professional bodies, including the Association of Southeast Asian Studies in the United Kingdom (ASEASUK), the Social Policy Association, the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, the Malaysian Association of Social Workers (MASW), and the International Sociological Association. Dr. Sabri has published widely in international and regional peer-reviewed journals, contributed chapters to scholarly books, and presented his research at numerous international conferences. He welcomes collaborative opportunities with scholars, practitioners, and institutions working to promote justice, equity, policy and social care systems that leave no one behind.

Dr. Purabi Mazumdar is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Research in Biotechnology for Agriculture (CEBAR), Universiti Malaya. She earned her Master’s degree in Botany from Gauhati University and a Doctoral degree in Bioenergy from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), India. Dr. Mazumdar’s research focuses on urban farming, enhancing crop nutritional quality, and crop protection through customized UV radiation, as well as agronomic, molecular, and biochemical strategies. She leads projects funded by grants from CREST, the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), and industry partners. Her current work emphasizes advanced crop protection and urban farming systems, including aquaponics, hydroponics, and aeroponics. Driven by the pursuit of sustainable agricultural practices, Dr. Mazumdar aims to answer a critical research question: How can we achieve sustainable, nutrient-dense, and clean food systems that promote health and well-being for all?
