Dr Siti Adibah Othman qualified as Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2000. She completed her Clinical Doctorate in Dental Surgery in Orthodontic at the University of Bristol and obtained her Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh in 2005. Having obtained the qualifications, she was appointed as Senior Lecturer at Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics in Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya from 2006 to 2011 and was appointed as Associate Professor in 2012. She obtained her full Professorship in 2019. She was the Head of Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, the coordinator of the postgraduate orthodontic programme and currently is the Deputy Dean of the Postgraduate. She is actively involved in teaching of the undergraduates, postgraduates, reviewing of the curriculums and also actively treating orthodontic patients at the University of Malaya and at the University Malaya Specialist Centre. Besides that, she is also doing research and has published a few research papers in academic journals. Her areas of interest are orthodontics, clinical research, cleft lip and palate abnormalities and 3D imaging. She is member of World Federation of Orthodontists, Malaysian Association of Orthodontists, Malaysian Dental Association and the life member of the Cleft Lip and Palate Association of Malaysia. In 2013, she was awarded Membership in Orthodontics Ad Eundem from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and being appointed as an examiner for the Membership of Orthodontics Examination of the Royal College of Surgeons of England for overseas diet.
show more »Nor Hazrul bin Mohd. Salleh adalah anak kelahiran negeri Kelantan. Dilahirkan pada 23 Mac 1971 di Kg. Manek Urai, Kuala Krai, Kelantan. Mendapat pendidikan awal di SK Alor Bakat dari tahun 1978-1983. Kemudian menyambung pengajian ke SMKA Falahiah, Pasir Pekan, Kelantan dari tahun 1984-1987. Selepas itu, meneruskan pengajian peringkat menengah di Kolej Islam Kelang dari 1987-1989. Seterusnya melanjutkan pelajaran ke Universiti Hasan II, Mohammedia, Morocco pada tahun 1989-1991. Kemudian berpindah ke Universiti Mohamed V, Rabat, Morocco dari tahun 1991-1995 dan memperoleh Ijazah Sarjana Muda Bahasa dan Kesusasteraan Arab (pengkhususan Sastera Arab). Mendapat Diploma Pendidikan (Bahasa Arab/Pendidikan Islam) daripada Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) pada tahun 1997. Seterusnya menyambung pelajaran peringkat Sarjana di Universiti Malaya dan dianugerahkan ijazah Sarjana Pengajian Bahasa Moden (MMLS-Master of Modern Language Studies) pengkhususan Fonetik Arab pada tahun 2010. Dianugerahkan Ijazah Doktor Falsafah (Ph.D Edu) bidang Pendidikan (Teaching Arabic to non-Arabic Speakers) daripada Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) pada tahun 2017. Pernah berkhidmat sebagai guru di sekolah-sekolah Yayasan Islam Kelantan (YIK) tahun 1996-1998. Kemudian bertugas sebagai Pensyarah/Pegawai Latihan di Pusat Bahasa Arab (PBA), YIK dari tahun 1999-2003. Dilantik sebagai Guru Bahasa di Akademi Pengajian Islam, Universiti Malaya Nilam Puri, Kelantan (APIUMNP) mulai 2003 dan sekarang menyandang jawatan Guru Bahasa Kanan sejak 17 Mei 2010. Diamanahkan tanggungjawab sebagai Penyelaras Bahasa Arab APIUMNP mulai 16 September 2006 hingga 2011. Dilantik sebagai Penyelaras Program Khas Bahasa Arab (PKBA) dari 02 Jun 2022 hingga sekarang. Diamanahkan juga sebagai Pengetua Kolej Kediaman Nilam Puri (sekarang Kolej Kediaman UMEC Bachok) mulai 1 Ogos 2010 hingga sekarang.
show more »Wenn-Chyau Lee received his BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Sciences from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia in 2011, and graduated with his PhD in Medical Sciences from Universiti Malaya in 2014. Subsequently, he joined Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN, A*STAR) as a research fellow. He was appointed as SIgN fellow (young investigator) in 2018. He joined A*STAR ID Labs as an investigator in 2021. Subsequently, he joined the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya as a senior lecturer. Currently, he is also an adjunct investigator of A*STAR ID Labs, Singapore. As a parasitologist, he has involved in studies encompassing several medically important parasites. His main research interest revolves around the immuno-pathobiology of malaria. He has been investigating and deciphering the roles of rosetting (a phenomenon where a Plasmodium-infected red blood cell is stably adhered to uninfected red blood cells, forming a flower-like structure called ‘rosette’) in the pathogenesis of malaria. Besides, he is exploring the potential of applying different biocontrol strategies to eliminate vector-borne diseases. He has worked as a research fieldworker in different places. As different laboratory settings are equipped differently, he enjoys adapting and improvising facilities available in the field sites to conduct experiments, as well as coordinating the insectarium and Arthropod Containment Level 2(ACL2) facility in the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. To date, he has published (as first/ corresponding author) in reputable journals such as Blood, Frontiers in Immunology, Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, eLife, EBioMedicine, Entomologia Generalis, and Trends in Parasitology. Apart from reviewing manuscripts for various journals, as well as evaluating grant proposals for local and overseas funders, he is also an associate editor of Frontiers in Microbiology and one of the editorial board members for the journal Decoding Infection and Transmission. He has involved in various teaching activities for students from different programs in Universiti Malaya, such as the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Master of Pathology (MPATH), and Master of Medical Parasitology and Entomology, as well as the students from overseas institutes. He is also the coordinator and instructor of the annual microscopy training (Kuala Lumpur station) for the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) co-organized by the University of Glasgow and Universiti Malaya. He served as a moderator in "Implementation Research (WPR-facilitated)", a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) by RTC-TDR-WHO in 2025. He has been a member of the Research Management Unit (RMU), Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya since 2022. He serves as the coordinator of the Grant Empowerment Section (GROW) under the Center for Core Research Excellence (TERAS), Universiti Malaya. He is also a member of the Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB), and the Malaysian Society of Parasitology and Tropical Medicine (MSPTM).
