Dr. Chong Wu Ling is a senior lecturer at the Department of Southeast Asian Studies, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. Her areas of expertise include ethnic Chinese studies and Southeast Asian politics. She is the author of Chinese Indonesians in post-Suharto Indonesia: Democratisation and ethnic minorities (Hong Kong: Hong Kong University Press, 2018). The book explores the role of ethnic Chinese Indonesians in shaping the democratisation process as well as their position in post-Suharto Indonesia across business, politics and civil society. She is also the co-author of Kaedah penyelidikan dan panduan penulisan [Research methods and guidance for writing, in Malay] (Kuala Lumpur: Universiti Malaya Press, 2016) (with Professor Dr. Sivachandralingam Sundara Raja and Dr. Noraini Mohamed Hassan). Wu Ling has published articles and book reviews in Asian Ethnicity, Pacific Affairs, Southeast Asian Studies, Journal of Southeast Asian Studies (JSEAS), JATI—Journal of Southeast Asian Studies, Sejarah, Sarjana, Borneo Research Journal (BRJ), Jebat: Malaysian Journal of History, Politics & Strategic Studies, Journal of Chinese Overseas, and International Journal of China Studies.
show more »Dr. Raja Jamilah Raja Yusof holds a bachelor degree in Information System Engineering from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London. She pursued her studies in Master and PhD in Computer Science from the Universiti Malaya. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Software Engineering in Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, a member of Centre of Quranic Research, University of Malaya and also a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE Senior Member), a member of Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) myHCI-UX. Her area of expertise includes User Experience (UX), Usability of interfaces, Agile Software Development, Computational Algorithms, Computational and Algorithmic Thinking and Problem based approach in teaching Software Engineering Related Subjects including Programming. Her main research interests is in Human Computer Interaction and Computational Algorithms in relation to Software Engineering while Quranic and Islamic information are valued aspects of her research. Currently she holds an industrial grant for AI Datahub for Quranic Application from SmartCore Digital Sdn Bhd. Her current research also revolves around Machine Learning On Automation of Machine Learning projects based on Software Engineering practices, Software Engineering solutions in relation to AI Datahub for Quranic Application, Human-Robot Interaction and Digital Automated Disaster Management System.
show more »Nadhratul Wardah Salman graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the International Islamic University Malaysia. She then completed a Master's in Sports Policy and a Master of Laws (LL.M). Driven by her curiosity about the dynamic relationship between sports and law, she pursued her Ph.D at Manchester Metropolitan University, focusing on the legal and safety issues surrounding children's sports. Her teaching and research interests include Sports Law, the Law of Torts, Sports Governance and Policy, and Human Rights. She is researching ways to combat match-fixing in sports and is particularly interested in the evolving legal context of the duty of care in sports. Over the past 20 years, Wardah has developed significant leadership skills. She has held various managerial positions, including Deputy Dean, Deputy Director, and Residential College Master. In addition, she has supervised and coordinated over 50 sports events and community engagement projects. Wardah is actively involved in fitness and recreational activities and has competed in numerous sports and martial arts tournaments for approximately 30 years. She represented Universiti Malaya in athletics from 2007 to 2024, with her most notable achievement being named 'UM Sportswoman of the Year' in 2010. She was a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation from 2009 to 2014. She served as a think tank member for the Institute for Youth Research Malaysia (IYRES) from 2012 to 2016. Currently, she is a member of the National Dispute Resolution Chamber for the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for the term 2022-2025.
