Dr Lee obtained a Japanese Government scholarship to pursue his Ph.D in Hokkaido, Japan. Upon graduation, he continued his research in marine microbial ecology in Malaysia. Tan Chin Joo is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UM. He obtained both his Bachelor of Engineering degree and Master of Engineering Science degree from UM in year 1999 and 2003, respectively.
