Dr. Muhammad Hadi Bin Mustafa is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Quantity Surveying at the Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With a robust academic background, Dr. Hadi earned his Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2013, followed by a Master’s Degree in Construction Project Management from the University of Manchester, UK, in 2014. He completed his Ph.D. in Built Environment at the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2023. Dr. Hadi is an enthusiastic researcher in the field of advanced construction technologies. His research interests include Historic Building Information Modelling (HBIM), Building Information Modelling (BIM), Cost Management, Big Data and Visualisation in Construction and Architecture, which includes preserving traditional and cultural values in the built environment and real estates. His current work emphasizes the integration of modern technological tools like laser scanning and BIM to enhance cost management, visualization, and the preservation of traditional and cultural values within the built environment. His research contributions include multiple published articles focusing on innovative construction management approaches, such as the utilization of 5D BIM for cost management, and the application of BIM in heritage building preservation. Notable publications include studies on green building effectiveness, supply management for industrialised building systems, and the development of BIM-backed decision support systems for heritage structures. He is also enthusiastic about the implementation of disruptive technologies in the built environment, aiming to drive innovation and enhance industry practices. Dr. Hadi has been actively involved in several national and private research projects, including initiatives on sustainable waste management for younger generations and also mediation and legal practices in the Malaysian quantity surveying practices. He has also contributed significantly to academia through his supervision of postgraduate students and teaching courses related to Information Technology Management for Projects, and various aspects of construction works measurement. In addition to his academic and research roles, Dr. Hadi has developed microcredential courses on BIM for historic buildings and the built environment, further extending his impact in professional and educational spheres. His expertise is further solidified by his work on intellectual property, including the HBIM Framework for Malay Historical Buildings. show more »Dr. Samsul Farid Samsuddin is a Senior Lecturer at Department of Library & Information Science in the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, University of Malaya. He was a Senior Librarian at Universiti Putra Malaysia Library (2010 - 2018) before joining the University (UM) in 2018. He graduated with Diploma in Building Surveying in 2003 and Bachelor of Science in Information Studies (Library & Information Management) in 2010 both from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). Dr. Samsul Farid obtained his Master degree in Library & Information Science (MLIS) from Universiti Malaya in 2012 and his doctorate (PhD) in Rural Advancement from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2017. His research is geared towards Community Development in Behavioral and Information Studies (library services & information management, information literacy, digital literacy, user needs & behaviour, information services for rural advancement, the use of ICT for development and community development). He's an expert in his fields and has published numerous articles in the library literature, systematic literature review papers and presented at various conferences.
show more »Professor Adeeba Kamarulzaman graduated from Monash University in 1987 and trained in internal medicine and infectious diseases at the Monash Medical Centre and Fairfield Infectious Diseases Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. She is presently the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Yale University, USA. She established the Centre of Excellence for Research on AIDS (CERiA) that conducts multi-disciplinary research on HIV ranging from clinical to public health and policy research. Professor Kamarulzaman has used her clinical and academic leadership to engage in the national and community response to HIV/AIDS. She is currently Chairman of the Malaysian AIDS Foundation and an Executive Council member of the Malaysian AIDS Council, the peak HIV NGO in Malaysia. At the international level, Professor Kamarulzaman is presently an Executive Council Member of the International AIDS Society and a member of the UNAIDS Scientific Expert Panel on HIV. She has also been an advisor to numerous WHO committees on HIV/AIDS. She has played a key role in the establishment and ongoing activities and collaborations of a regional HIV research network initiative; TREAT Asia. Her achievements have been recognised through several national and international awards including the Tun Mahathir Science and the Merdeka Awards for her role as a member of the University of Malaya’s Nipah Investigative Team. She is the first recipient of the Advance Australia Global Award in the category of Alumni in 2012 and in April 2015 she was honoured with a Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) from her alma mater, Monash University. She also has the distinct honour of having been featured in both The Lancet and Science publications in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
