Biographical note: Dr. Chew Shin Yi is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. She graduated with a B.Ed TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) degree from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and obtained her Ph.D. from Universiti Malaya under a fast-track programme. She has taught students from pre-school up to university level. Her interests include language learning & development, 21st-century learning, computer-mediated communication and computer-assisted language learning. She is now working on projects related to the education of Indigenous community and Sustainable Development Goals. Her current project, funded by British Council's ISPF grant, is titled "Enhancing Educational Equity and Engagement through AI-Driven Metaverse Environments (EduSphere)."
show more »He received a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 1995. Then, he joined Indonesian Aircraft Industries Ltd. (PT. IPTN/ Dirgantara Indonesia/ Indonesian-Aerospace Ltd), Bandung, Indonesia as a Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics engineer from 1995 to 1999. ALHAMDULILLAH, while working with PT. IPTN, he was given a sponsorship by the Ministry of National Education, Indonesia,for pursuing master degree in Mechanical Engineering at Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), Indonesia (completed in 1998). In October 1999, he was awarded a prominent PhD studentship from the Queen Mary and Westfield Research Council, University of London, and ALHAMDULILLAH he successfully accomplished his PhD in Computational Mechanics in 2003.Prior to joining Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia, in July 2004, he was working as a visiting researcher at Inter University Center, Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), Indonesia. In 2010, he joined University of Malaya, Malaysia, for the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Next, prior to joining University of Pertamina in 2019, he was working with Universiti Teknologi Brunei, Brunei Darussalam (in 2016). In 2025, ALHAMDULILLAH, he was very pleased to make a return to Universiti Malaya (Department of Mechanical Engineering), Malaysia.
show more »ChM. Dr Muhammad Fauzi Abd Jalil holds a PhD in Pharmacy from University College London, UK. He also has a master's in engineering (Bioprocess) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and a Degree in Biotechnology from International Islamic University Malaysia. He started his career in Biocon Sdn Bhd as an Associate in the Quality Assurance department, and later he moved to the Drug Product department. In Biocon, he gained experience in handling the QA and cGMP-related documents, large-scale Insulin manufacturing, revised the Batch Manufacturing Records and spearheaded the Continued Process Verification Report. Later in his career, he joined Sumitomo Chemical Enviro Agro Sdn Bhd as the Deputy Manager in the Formulation department, later known as the Chemistry department. In Sumitomo, he was responsible for developing, improving and innovating new formulations or products for insecticides. Currently, he is the Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Universiti Malaya.his research interest in improving the delivery of high-potential drugs with poor absorption and permeation at the targeted area via various types of formulations and techniques. AI and 3D printing are also two of the areas that he wants to develop, especially for personalised medicine.
