Mashitah Hamidi is an Associate Professor of Migration Studies at the Department of Social Administration and Justice, Universiti Malaya. Her research interest is focusing on migration and displacement groups. She is currently a Head of Department of Social Administration and Justice and Deputy Head of Population and Migration Research Center, Universiti Malaya. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Human Development and Masters in Human Resource Development (MHRD) from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She pursued her PhD in Sociology at La Trobe University, Australia. Her areas of research include development studies, social integration, advocacy and social services systems of transnational labor and gendered migration, stateless and refugee groups. She handled numerous research include Indonesian Women Migrants in Malaysia, Stateless Children in Kuala Lumpur, Rohingya refugee community. She is a permanent committee member of ATIPSOM for the Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF). Mashitah is involved as a Consultant team at National level projects such as Malaysian Social Workers Knowledge and Practice (2018), Inclusive Campus Framework for Disable Students – MyU-OKU (2019) and Sarawak Well-Being Index (2019-2020). She delivered a Keynote speech at the 1st World Conference on Gender Studies (WCGS) 2019 and was appointed as a Visiting Professor at the Sociology Education Department, Faculty of Social Science Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia in 2022.
show more »Associate Professor Dr. Ng Lee Luan obtained her PhD in Applied Linguistic from University of Otago, New Zealand. She teaches postgraduate courses related to research methodology and second language acquisition at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics. Her current research interest includes computer assisted language learning, online learning, game based learning and the use of computer automated feedback and AI generated output as a tool or aid in academic context, especially in higher education . She is also a certified trainer for the software, NVivo. She has been invited to conduct workshops related to qualitative data analysis and using computer assisted qualitive data analysis software in deciphering research data at various public and private universities locally and abroad. She has also participated in research projects with a interdisciplinary focus. Lee Luan has also been invited to review journal articles for overseas and local publication such as Frontiers in Psychology - Language Sciences, Pertanika Journal, Malaysian Journal of ELT Research, The Malaysian Journal of Learning and Instruction.
show more »Professor Dr Wan Himratul Aznita Wan Harun is a passionate oral microbiologist. Since year 2000, she has served as an academic staff at the Department of Oral & Craniofacial Sciences and is currently the Deputy Dean of Value Creation and Enterprise, Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya. She is a member of the Malaysian Section International Association for Dental Research (MalSec-IADR), Malaysian Society for Microbiologist (MSM) and Malaysian Society for Oral Microbiologist and Oral Immunologist (MySOMOI). Her research interest includes microbial virulence, oral biofilms, polymicrobial interactions, microbiomes, and medicinal plant extracts. She was awarded the Hitachi Fellowship Award in 2009 and flew to Japan to conduct research on the virulence of oral microorganisms. She publishes articles actively in ISI and Scopus journals and has experienced in supervising many PhD and Masters research for both local and international students including undergraduate elective projects. Throughout her service, she has secured various grants, including Fundamental Research Grants Scheme (FRGS), Ministry of Higher Education-High Impact Research Grants (MOHE-HIR), etc.
