Tan Chin Joo is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UM. He obtained both his Bachelor of Engineering degree and Master of Engineering Science degree from UM in year 1999 and 2003, respectively. He was a tutor in UM 1999 and later be promoted to a lecturer in 2003. In 2005, he was offered a scholarship by JICA for his doctoral study in Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan. After completing his study in 2008, he joined TOPY Industries Limited, Japan. After 3 years of working in TOPY (2 years in R&D Dept. and 1 year in Production Dept.), he returned to Malaysia and joined Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). He joined UM in December, 2011. His research interests include stamping of lightweight parts, finite element analysis of metal forming processes, laser hardening, green forming processes, tube forming.      

Elanni received her PhD from Universiti Malaya in 2023, specializing in geohazard assessment, disaster risk reduction, and urban geology. Her research integrates geoscience data to evaluate engineering ground conditions and assess urban areas' vulnerability to geohazards, facilitating the identification of suitable zones for urban development through GIS technology. She is also exploring the applications of big data and artificial intelligence in her work. Her focus on urban geology examines the relationship between human development and the Earth's resources, promoting sustainable and resilient cities. Committed to impactful research, she engages with stakeholders and collaborates with industry partners to ensure her work addresses real-world needs, thereby enriching the educational experience for students.

Dr. Norhiwani Binti Mohd Hapipi is currently a Senior Lecturer in Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After graduating from Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, she began her career at Centre for Foundation Studies in Science, Universiti Malaya. With over 5 years’ experience in research and 3 years teaching experiences, she has great collaboration with public university and industry. Her research focusses on fabrication of advanced materials like smart rubber, smart polymer and hydrogel.
