Dr. Lim Siew Huah is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Malaya (UM), where she specializes in Natural Products Chemistry and Bioorganic Chemistry. She earned her Ph.D. (2013), M.Sc. (2007), and B.Sc. (Hons.) (2004) from UM, and her research focuses on isolating and studying bioactive compounds from Malaysian plants, particularly alkaloids, for potential applications in health sciences and biotechnology. Dr. Lim has extensive experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and has been actively involved in curriculum development. She teaches courses in organic chemistry and molecular spectroscopy, incorporating contemporary research findings into her teaching. She previously served as the Undergraduate Program Coordinator for the B.Sc. Chemistry program, where she oversaw academic planning and program improvements. In addition to lecturing, she supervises final-year undergraduate research projects (FYP) and mentors MSc and PhD students in organic and natural products chemistry, guiding them in phytochemical investigations and structural elucidation of bioactive compounds. Her research focuses on natural products chemistry, particularly the isolation, structural elucidation, and spectroscopic characterization of plant-derived secondary metabolites. She specializes in the study of alkaloids, employing advanced spectroscopic techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry to determine the structures of complex natural compounds. Her work extends to the chemical modification of natural products to understand their structure-activity relationships and enhance their potential applications. Her research explores the diverse flora of Malaysia to uncover bioactive natural compounds with potential therapeutic relevance. Investigations include the structural modification of natural products to explore their chemical properties and interactions, particularly in cancer-related studies, skin brightening effects, and other health-related applications. Through her work, she contributes to the advancement of natural products chemistry and its role in biomedical research.

Dr Petrina Tan is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universiti Malaya (UM). She holds a PhD and an LL.M (Corporate & Financial Services Law) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) as well as an LL.B (Hons)(Distinction), equivalent to a First Class Honours degree, from UM. She was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to pursue a PhD at NUS and was conferred the PhD in July 2023. Her doctoral thesis examined the regulation of the alternative market listing regime by selected stock exchanges in Asia. Her prior research on retail investor protection and institutional investor stewardship has been published as journal articles in the Erasmus Law Review, Asian Journal of Comparative Law and the Journal of Malaysian and Comparative Law as well as a book chapter in the edited volume ‘Global Shareholder Stewardship’ published by Cambridge University Press. She has presented at various international and regional conferences. Her research interests include capital market law and policy, company law and corporate governance and regulatory theory more generally. She was previously a corporate lawyer, federal counsel at the Malaysian Attorney General’s Chambers, senior manager at Bursa Malaysia, adjunct research fellow at the National University of Singapore Centre for Banking & Finance Law and Postdoctoral Fellow at the EW Barker Centre for Law & Business, NUS. She was also a sessional tutor at the School of Business, Monash University Malaysia, where she taught Malaysian company law.

Dr. Mazlina Mazlan is a Professor and Head of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at Universiti Malaya. She has significantly advanced the field, particularly in brain injury and neurorehabilitation. Her expertise spans traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques. Prof. Mazlina's TBI research has been widely published in medical journals, and she serves as Associate Editor for Neurology Asia (WoS) and Journal of Health and Translational Medicine (Scopus). She has co-authored numerous chapters and books, including a contribution to the globally recognized textbook Braddom's Rehabilitation Care. Her influence extends to keynote addresses at international conferences including the World Congress of the International Society of Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine and invited clinical workshops in Southeast Asia. Additionally, she founded and leads the Malaysian Association of Rehabilitation Physicians' Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Non-invasive Brain Stimulation Special Interest Groups, focusing on clinical training, education, and public awareness. Prof. Mazlina has supervised over 50 postgraduates, including the first PhD graduate from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Universiti Malaya. Her leadership extends to chairing the National Conjoint Board for Rehabilitation Medicine Specialty and serving as a Medical Specialty Program Panel Evaluator for the Malaysian Medical Council. She was part of the World Health Organisation's expert review group for Rehabilitation Intervention toolkit, and one of the founding members of International Society of Cognitive Rehabilitation. Beyond academia, Prof. Mazlina frequently serves as an expert medical witness in medico-legal TBI cases. Clinically, she is a pioneer, being the first Malaysian rehabilitation physician with a Fellowship in brain injury rehabilitation and the first Malaysian appointed as Council member in the Asian Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Society SIC. She provides expert clinical consultations and treatments, as a Senior Consultant Rehabilitation Physician at UM Medical Center & UM Specialist Center.
