Dr. Cassendra Anak Gilbert is a scholar and emerging expert in sport safety management, with a strong research focus on advancing safe sport practices across diverse contexts, including sport events, outdoor recreation, sport tourism, sport marketing, organization behaviour in sport, HRM in sport and sport facilities. Her Sport Safety Management research contributes to the development of evidence-based frameworks for safety governance, professional judgement and operational management in high-safety sport and recreation environments. She is particularly interested in how safety culture can be strengthened through education, leadership and systemic intervention within sport organisations and institutions. Beyond safety management, Dr. Cassendra’s research extends into innovative and interdisciplinary domains. She explores the integration of metaverse technologies in preserving and promoting traditional sports, positioning cultural heritage within digital transformation agendas. Additionally, she investigates AI-supported leadership development, with a focus on empowering women in sport leadership and addressing structural inequalities through technology-enhanced approaches. Her broader academic interests include sport education, digital technology in sport, and wellbeing-oriented interventions, such as integrating movement-based practices into modern lifestyles and workplaces. As an early-career academic and lecturer, she is committed to bridging theory and practice, fostering industry-relevant knowledge and shaping future sport professionals through critical and experiential learning. Dr. Cassendra actively engages in research, teaching and professional collaborations aimed at enhancing safe, inclusive and innovative sport ecosystems at both national and international levels.
show more »Mohd Razip Bajuri received his PhD from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in Mathematics Education. He is now Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Education, Department of Mathematics and Science Education, University of Malaya (UM). His research area is in Mathematics education, focusing on mathematical modelling, creativity, innovation and metacognition using quantitative and qualitative research methodology.
show more »Dr. Mohd Talha Anees received PhD from Universiti Sains Malaysia in Environmental Remote Sensing (Land and Water). He did his M.Sc and B.Sc from Aligarh Muslim University. He did Post Doc from the University of Malaya and the University Malaysia Kelantan. He also worked as a research and development consultant in a private company. He teaches undergraduate courses in Geology. His previous research includes land use and land cover changes, flood modeling, rainfall-runoff modeling, soil erosion analysis, and water quality modeling. His current research further added geological hazards, the development of an early warning system for landslides, spatio-temporal estimation of carbon storage in urban trees, environmental impact assessment, and the use of artificial intelligence in remote sensing studies. He has authored 18 publications in Web of Science journals and received more than 320 citations with an h-index of 9. Dr. Talha and his team want to collaborate with national and international researchers to enhance research expertise in applied geology.
