ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NURSHAMIMI BTE NOR RASHID

Dr. Nurshamimi was awarded a Malaysia-Imperial Doctoral Programme to study HPV regulation at the Department of Virology, St. Mary’s Campus, Imperial College London, upon graduating with an M.Med.Sc from the University of Malaya in 2008. She joined the Department of Molecular Medicine as a Senior Lecturer in 2014 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021. She was a three-time travel award winner for attending HKU-Pasteur workshops at the University of Hong Kong. She also received travel awards from the International Papillomavirus Society in 2017 for the HPV conference in South Africa and a travel award from the EMBL Advanced Training Centre Corporate Partnership Program Fellowship in 2015 for the EMBO Conference in Heidelberg, Germany. She is also a member of the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) and the European Society for Virology. In 2020, she won the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Young Investigator Award for her work on the Chikungunya virus, and in 2022, she received a travel award from Keystone Symposia, Global Health Travel Award, USA. In 2024, she was selected by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, USA, to present her work entitled "Morindone from Morinda citrifolia—A promising agent targeting DNA replication and key mutations in colorectal cancer" at their conference 'Mechanisms and Models of Cancer'. Dr. Nurshamimi also holds several patents in the field of anti-aging and colorectal cancer. Her current research is geared toward phase 1 clinical trials for diabetic foot ulcer treatment and investigating potential leads for colorectal cancer targets. She is an Ambassador for Bentham Science Publisher, one of the most renowned ISI publishers in the world. Currently, she is a principal investigator for research projects on colorectal cancer, Zika and dengue viruses, anti-aging, and diabetic foot ulcers.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. ROSMAWANI BINTI CHE HASHIM

BIODATA   Rosmawani Che Hashim is an associate professor at the Department of Management and Marketing, Universiti Malaya (UM). Her areas of expertise are commercial law and banking law. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree in 1992 and a Bachelor of Shariah Law (Hons) degree in 1993 from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Following her bachelor’s degree, she obtained her master’s in international commercial law from the University of Nottingham, the UK, in 1995. She holds her Ph.D. in Islamic Banking and Finance Law at the International Islamic Banking and Finance Institute (IIiBF) at IIUM. She began her career as a lecturer at Universiti Utara Malaysia in 1995 before transferring to UM in 2005. Currently, she is teaching Commercial Law and Legal Aspects of Banking Law at the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE). Apart from her considerable teaching experience and administration posts, she is active in literary pursuits. She published articles in her related field in various social sciences journals, books, and proceedings of international conferences. She has several years of experience in consulting projects with agencies such as Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), the Asian Institute of Finance (AIF), and the British High Commission, United Kingdom. Her research area covers legal issues in commercial and banking laws, wellbeing at the workplace, domestic violence, and elderly and informal caretakers' wellbeing. Her current interest is in qualitative research.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. RAJA JAMILAH BINTI RAJA YUSOF

      Dr. Raja Jamilah Raja Yusof holds a bachelor degree in Information System Engineering from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London. She pursued her studies in Master and PhD in Computer Science from the Universiti Malaya. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Software Engineering in Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, a member of Centre of Quranic Research, University of Malaya and also a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE Senior Member), a member of Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) myHCI-UX-. Her area of expertise includes User Experience (UX), Usability of interfaces, Agile Software Development, Computational Algorithms, Computational and Algorithmic Thinking and Problem based approach in teaching programming. Her main research interests is in Human Computer Interaction and Computational Algorithms in relation to Software Engineering while Quranic and Islamic information are valued aspects of her research. Currently she holds a partnership grant under the Erasmus+ from the European Union for Instilling Innovative Skills in ICT Education (ICT-INOV) through Design Thinking and Game based Learning. Her current research also revolves around Machine Learning On Automation of Machine Learning projects based on Software Engineering practices, detecting 3D Kendi Images for cultural heritage and predicting the spread of Covid-19. Also Machine learning application in HCI specifically application in Gesture Based Interaction for people with disabilities.
