Dr. Aisyah Binti Ahmad Fisal is a Dental Lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya, specialising in Special Care Dentistry. She is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical supervision, and academic leadership within the Department of Orthodontics, Paediatric and Special Care Dentistry. She obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide, Australia, followed by a Doctorate in Special Care Dentistry (First Class Honours) from Trinity College Dublin. Dr. Aisyah also holds a Master of Science in Special Care Dentistry and Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr. Aisyah has held several leadership roles, including Deputy Head of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies for the Special Care Dentistry Unit, Course Coordinator, and Clinical Coordinator. She is also a member of the national working committee for the development of guidelines on oral health management for adults with special needs. Her research focuses on special care dentistry, dental behaviour support, gerodontology, dental anxiety, and sustainable dental practices. She has published in reputable international journals and currently leads multiple research projects as Principal Investigator. Dr. Aisyah is an active member of national and international professional organisations and regularly contributes as a speaker, examiner, and community advocate in advancing inclusive oral healthcare. |
