Biography | |
Dr. Srihari Singaravel is the Senior Consultant Pediatric Urologist at PPUM. He was the first Pediatric Surgeon to graduate from University of Malaya. With over 14 years of dedicated service in Malaysia, Dr. Srihari Singaravel is certified by the National Specialist Register and is the only dedicated Pediatric Urologist at UM Medical Center. His primary focus is advancing pediatric urology in Malaysia. His academic expertise includes preparing talks and educating both Health and Allied health science trainees and Specialists, including Nurse technicians, medical students, Medical Officers, Masters programme candidates, clinical specialists/consultants, nurture authoring of research publications, and constructing examination questions for both undergraduate and postgraduate training programmes. Dr. Srihari's surgical expertise extends to both common and complex pediatric urological conditions like Hypospadias, Congenital Urinary tract outflow obstruction and cloacal exstrophies. PPUM is the only Health Facility in Malaysia where pediatric urology services are provided by a dedicated pediatric urologist. 2012 marked a historical milestone in for PPUM as Standalone dedicated Pediatric Urology services were made available to the public for the first time in Malaysia. PPUM has pioneered Video Urodynamics, Biofeedback, Office pediatric Urology, standalone daycare services, childhood urinary incontinence clincs, comprehensive combined Spina Bifida clinics, combined nephro-urology clinics and cutting edge Urotherapy services for our children. One of our greatest achievements has been specialization in the integration of nuclear medicine with pediatric urology, pioneering advanced diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for complex pediatric urological conditions, challenging lacklustre "gold standards" and introducing the bleeding edge concepts of "Strategized Standardization". He hopes to continue to contribute to the medical community, fostering education, training and excellence in pediatric urology. |
