Ir. Ts. Dr. Razuana Rahim is a Professional Engineer (Ir.) and Professional Technologist (Ts.) with extensive expertise in sustainable manufacturing, cleaner production, carbon footprint assessment, decarbonisation, circular economy, and environmental management. She actively engaged in academia, research, industrial consultancy, and professional development.
Her research is centred on advancing sustainability through innovative engineering solutions that enhance environmental performance and resource efficiency across manufacturing industries. Her research interests include carbon hotspot assessment, greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, cleaner production, life cycle thinking, circular economy implementation, industrial symbiosis, and environmental sustainability. She also has a growing interest in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices, digital technologies for sustainability assessment, and sustainability reporting.
In addition to her academic and research contributions, Ir. Ts. Dr. Razuana is actively involved in the engineering profession through the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), where she serves as a Committee Member. She also contributes to professional development programmes aimed at enhancing the competencies and promoting the lifelong learning of engineers in Malaysia. Her professional engagement reflects her commitment to advancing the engineering profession and supporting the continuous development of engineering talent at the national level.
Beyond research, Ir. Ts. Dr. Razuana is committed to bridging academia and industry by integrating practical engineering knowledge into teaching, consultancy, and collaborative research. She actively promotes industry-oriented learning and multidisciplinary collaboration to equip graduates with the technical competencies, analytical skills, and sustainability mindset needed to address contemporary engineering and environmental challenges.
