Biography | |
Associate Professor Dr. Lau May Nak is a senior lecturer and specialist orthodontist at the Department of Paediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya. She obtained her first degree in Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Malaya in 2008. After working as a dental officer in the Ministry of Health, Malaysia for 5 years, she attended the University of Malaya again in 2013 where she earned her Master of Orthodontics (With Distinction) and Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2017. She joined the University of Malaya as a lecturer in 2018 and is now actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, research, and treating orthodontic and obstructive sleep apnoea patients. Her research interests include orthodontics, anchorage, retention and relapse, teaching and learning, mandibular advancement appliance therapy, obstructive sleep apnoea, and cleft lip and palate abnormalities. She is the Assistant Secretary of the Malaysian Association of Orthodontists, a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a life member of the International Association of Student Clinicians – American Dental Association (SCADA). |
