Biography | |
Mr. Magesan R. Ayavoo holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of London (External) and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of East London, United Kingdom, obtained in 2004. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in January 2006 and is also a certified Mediator accredited by the Malaysian Mediation Centre. Prior to entering academia, Mr. Magesan gained over seven years of legal practice experience, during which he handled a broad spectrum of criminal and civil litigation, including consumer and employment disputes. He was actively involved in legal aid work, having represented clients in numerous criminal, industrial, and family court matters across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. He began his academic career in October 2012 as an Expert Consultant at the Faculty of Law, Universiti Malaya. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer, where he is deeply engaged in undergraduate teaching and research. His areas of specialization include Professional Practice, Legal Practice & Ethics, Constitutional Law, and Criminal Justice, with particular emphasis on Criminal Law and Procedure. In addition to his legal practice and teaching, Mr. Magesan frequently contributes to public legal education through his appearances on television programs, news features, and public forums, where he speaks on a variety of legal topics. |
