BIOGRAPHY
Mr Magesan R Ayavoo read law at the University of London (External) and he obtained his Master of Laws degree in 2004 from the University of East London, United Kingdom.
He was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in January 2006. He had obtained seven years of qualitative experience in legal practice, skilled in handling all types of civil and criminal litigations. He has presented talks on various legal issues / topics on a bi-weekly TV program. He is certified as a mediator by the Malaysian Mediation Centre.
He joined the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya as an Expert Consultant in October 2012 and is currently a Senior Lecturer. He is actively involved in the undergraduate teaching and research activities and his area of expertise includes Legal Practice and Ethics, Professional Practice, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, Criminal Justice and Constitutional Law.
He is also currently enrolled in the PhD program at the University of Malaya examining preventive detention issues in Malaysia under the supervision of Emeritus Proffesor Shad Saleem Faruqi.
