Dr. Gareth Sim Maw Shin is a talented and dedicated senior lecturer at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He is currently working in the Department of Pharmaceutical Life Sciences, within the esteemed Faculty of Pharmacy. With a PhD in Medical Science from the University of Malaya, Dr. Gareth joined the faculty as a senior lecturer in 2017. Prior to his PhD, he spent three years as a SLAI fellow under the Academic Training Scheme from the Ministry of Education Malaysia. Dr. Gareth's expertise in teaching is reflected in his role as coordinator of four Pharmacy and Biomedical modules. He is also highly regarded in the research community, with a focus on Behavioural Science, Genetic Epidemiology, and Psycho- and Neuro-pharmacogenomics in drug abuse and dependence. He is currently leading a cutting-edge project on 'Psychopharmacogenomics of Amphetamine-type Stimulants (ATS) Abuse and Dependence in the Malaysian Population'. With a strong collaboration network that includes esteemed institutions such as Monash University, Mahsa University, and more, Dr. Gareth has published several high-impact articles in prestigious journals such as Brain Research, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, and the Pharmacogenomics journal. show more »Dr. Hannuun Yaacob currently holds the position of a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Decision Science within the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Malaya. She earned her Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Sheffield, UK. Her primary research interests encompass Bayesian statistics and biostatistics. In her previous research project, she focused on statistical genetics, where she developed a Bayesian statistical model to identify potential causal genes for breast cancer. Presently, her research revolves around preference-based measures and health-related quality of life, with a keen interest in the application of statistics in social science research. Dr. Hannuun's work effectively bridges the gap between statistical analysis and the human experience, significantly contributing to our understanding of preferences, aspirations, and the tools used for measurement. An enthusiastic user of the R software, she has also served as a guest speaker at the R conference in 2022 and continues to primarily employ R software in both her research and teaching endeavors. Beyond her academic pursuits, Dr. Hannuun finds solace in reading and traveling, embracing a balanced and holistic life. show more »Professor Dr. Loo-See Beh is Professor of HRM & Public Administration at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and formerly the Head of Department of Administrative Studies and Politics, and the Deputy Dean (International and Higher Degree), Faculty of Economics and Administration, as well as Interim Head of Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Business and Economics. She holds a PhD in Training Management, M.A. in Political Science, and B.A. (Hons.) in History and Political Science. Her research interests includes public administration, innovation, smart city development, public policy, human resource management, organizational behaviour, governance, education, political science, and socio-political/cultural studies. She is also a Research Fellow and HRD Thought Leader with the National Human Resources Centre (HRD Corp), Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia since 2020. She has been awarded the 2017 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence - Outstanding Paper (Highly Commended) in Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, (Emerald) and also Best Paper Award for an article “Charting Ethics in Asia Pacific HRM; Does the East meet West Ethically?” in Review of Public Personnel Administration & ASPA in 2014. She has also been recognized as an Outstanding Contributor as a Reviewer by Elsevier in 2017. She sits on several committees and coordinators of several programs, collaborative research projects and seminars locally and abroad, resource person and as associate member with a number of local and international institutions including Malaysian Qualifications Agency; Malaysian Association of American Studies; Global Studies Association, UK; International Political Science Association Research Committee on SOG, USA; American Society for Public Administration, USA; Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (Japan; Singapore). She has held the position of research and visiting appointments at Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, Griffith University, Australia, Yonsei University, Korea, and Sunway University, Malaysia. She has published widely and sits on the editorial board of several international peer-reviewed journals including serving as external examiners for theses, programs, and staff promotions in other universities as well as reviewers for many reputable high-ranked international journals and books.
