Yin Kia Chiam received a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia. She is currently a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya, Malaysia. She has published in several reputable journals and conferences both locally and internationally. Her research focus is in the field of Software Engineering and Data Mining.

I am currently a Professor at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Universiti Malaya. My main areas of research include Varieties of English, in particular, Malaysian English, as well as language use in educational and in multilingual contexts.
