DATO' PROF. DR. MOHD JAMIL BIN MAAH

  Prof Dato’ Dr Mohd Jamil Maah   Graduated with BSc(Hons) in Chemistry from UM in 1979 and started his academic career as a chemistry tutor at PASUM and later went to University of Sussex, UK to do his MSc in Organometallic Chemistry. This was the year he worked collaboratively with the late Prof Sir Harry Kroto, a Nobel Laureate in Chemistry. In 1985 he went again to Sussex University for his DPhil - continuing on the pioneer work he initiated during MSc on the coordination chemistry of ligands containing P-C multiple bonds under the supervision of Prof John Nixon. Other than research, he is actively involved in chemical education and had been consultants to several ministries and industries in Malaysia. He held several academic administrative positions in UM like Head of Dept, Directors, Dean of several establishments in UM and DVC(Research & Innovation) and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International). He was Chairman of Malaysia Chemistry Olympiad Committee and heading several scientific committees involving government ministries and societies. He was seconded to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) as Undersecretary of BIOTEK Division. Currently, he is an Emeritus Professor of Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, University of Malaya.  He was also a member of Board of Trustee for National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM) and chaired the Management Committee (2014-2016). Internationally, he was a member of the Advisory Board on Education and Outreach (ABEO) of the OPCW (2018-2024) and a member of Board of Governor of ISTIC.

DR. MOHD NORBAYUSRI BIN BAHARUDIN

At Universiti Malaya, Dr. Mohd Norbayusri Baharudin serves as a senior lecturer in the Department of Social Administration and Justice. His primary areas of specialization encompass prison and correctional administration, the rehabilitation and treatment of offenders, community corrections, group-based approaches to therapeutic communities, substance abuse counseling, quantitative research methods, and covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM). He has received advanced training at Daytop Village Inc. in New York, USA, focusing on drug addiction treatment, as well as at the Brush Farm Corrective Services Academy in New South Wales, Australia, specializing in correctional administration. Prior to his academic career, he dedicated two decades to the Malaysian Prisons Department, where he served as a prison officer, rehabilitation officer, and policymaker. Recently, Dr. Norbayusri has contributed to media discussions on the Pelaksanaan Akta Tahanan Rumah (Implementation of the House Detention Act). ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. RAJA JAMILAH BINTI RAJA YUSOF

      Dr. Raja Jamilah Raja Yusof holds a bachelor degree in Information System Engineering from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London. She pursued her studies in Master and PhD in Computer Science from the Universiti Malaya. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Software Engineering in Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, a member of Centre of Quranic Research, University of Malaya and also a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE Senior Member), a member of Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) myHCI-UX-. Her area of expertise includes User Experience (UX), Usability of interfaces, Agile Software Development, Computational Algorithms, Computational and Algorithmic Thinking and Problem based approach in teaching programming. Her main research interests is in Human Computer Interaction and Computational Algorithms in relation to Software Engineering while Quranic and Islamic information are valued aspects of her research. Currently she holds a partnership grant under the Erasmus+ from the European Union for Instilling Innovative Skills in ICT Education (ICT-INOV) through Design Thinking and Game based Learning. Her current research also revolves around Machine Learning On Automation of Machine Learning projects based on Software Engineering practices, detecting 3D Kendi Images for cultural heritage and predicting the spread of Covid-19. Also Machine learning application in HCI specifically application in Gesture Based Interaction for people with disabilities.
