Sharifah Basirah Syed Mushin, who graduated from the University of Malaya (Bachelor's, Master's degree and Phd (2017) is currently the Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, Malaysia working in the Department of Aqidah and Islamic Thought. Dr. Sharifah Basirah broad academic and research interests involve Sufism, Islamic Psychospiritual, Islamic Psychotherapy, and Islamic Ethics. She has produced in publications including books, articles in books, articles in journals, short articles in mass media, and, conference proceedings that were presented nationally and internationally. To impart the outputs of Islamic Psychospiritual and Psychotherapy to the relevant communities, Dr. Sharifah Basirah has been invited to facilitate the training of the trainers (ToT) workshops and intervention sessions that are usually organized by the government such as JAKIM, Malaysian Ministry of Health, state religious councils and departments, non-governmental organizations, and the public. She has been involved in committees and has been appointed as an expert panel, among others in Management Committee obtained several certificates as a certified practitioner such as Psychological First Aid and Mental Health Coach.
show more »Dr. Adediran Anthonia Oluwatosin is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Real Estate, Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya, with over 13 years of academic experience. She holds a PhD in Real Estate from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, focusing on housing finance; a Master’s in Real Estate Development and Investment from the University of Greenwich, UK; and an HND in Estate Management from Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria. She also completed specialized training in Data Science in Real Estate at the MIT School of Architecture and Planning, USA. Before joining UM, she served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Uberlândia, Brazil and a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti. Her research interests include housing finance, housing affordability, green finance, PropTech, data analytics, energy efficiency, and sustainable real estate development. She has published extensively on machine learning applications in renewable energy, climate change, and housing, with several papers indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. Dr. Adediran applies advanced econometric modeling, statistical analysis, and big data analytics in her work. She supervises postgraduate students, teaches real estate finance and analytics-related courses, and contributes to program development and faculty committees.
show more »Dr. Shuaibu Umar Gokaru was born and raised in Gokaru, a small town in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Nigeria. He attended Iqamatissunnah Islamiyyah/Primary School and memorised the entire Qur'an by heart in 2001. Later, he went to Government Day Secondary School Kofar Wamabai. Afterwards, he studied at the then A.D.Rufa'i College for Legal and Islamic Studies, Misau, Bauchi, Nigeria, now known as A.D.Rufa'i College of Education, Legal, and General Studies, where he obtained a Diploma in Shari'a & Civil Law in 2004. Dr. Gokaru earned his B.A. Degree in Islamic Studies in 2010 from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria, followed by a Master of Arts Degree in Islamic and other Civilisations from the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM) in 2014. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Civilisation at the University of Malaya in 2017. Dr. Gokaru has served as a Lecturer at Bauchi State University Gadau, Nigeria, from 2012 until January 2023, when he was appointed as a Lecturer at the Department of Islamic History and Civilisation, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. While at Bauchi State University Gadau, Dr. Gokaru taught various courses and supervised students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He held various positions, including Faculty Examination Officer of the then Faculty of Arts and Education (now Faculty of Arts) from 2017 to 2021, and Dean of the Students' Affairs Division, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, from 2021 to 2022. He also served as Chairman of the Committee and Member of numerous committees such as the Senate Committee, Senate Business Committee, Committee of Deans and Directors, Appointment and Promotion Committee, and University Disciplinary Committees, among others. He is a journal reviewer for publications such as Al-Habeer: Journal of Islamic Studies, Al-Tamaddun: Journal of Islamic History and Civilisation, and Al-Milal: South Asian Journal of Religion and Philosophy. He has published several papers in international peer-reviewed academic journals (WOS and Scopus), including the Indonesian Journal of Social Sciences and Al-Tamaddun: Journal of Islamic History and Civilisation, Universiti Malaya.
