ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NORJIHAN BINTI ABDUL GHANI

Norjihan is currently a Senior Lecturer in Department of Information System, FCSIT, Universiti Malaya. She started working at UM as a lecturer since November 2002 and become a senior lecturer in 2015. Her PhD in Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2013), and her Master in Information Technology (2000) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and she obtained her Bachelor Degree in Information Technolgy from Universiti Utara Malaysia (2000). Currently, she is the Head of Department for Information Systems since 7 October 2019. Her research interest is in the areas of information security which she focuses more on information privacy, data security, data protection. Norjihan managed to secure various research grants from internal and external funds as Principal Investigator, and also a co-researcher for grants. She was actively involved in the curriculum development which was appointed as Programme Coordinator for Master of Information Technology Management and involved in many programme development at the faculty level. Apart from this, she also involved being a panel interviewer for Hadiah Latihan Persekutuan and Biasiswa Yang di Pertuan Agong.

DR. ABDULLAH AL-HADI BIN AHMAD FUAAD

  ChM. Dr. Abdullah Al-Hadi Ahmad Fuaad, or simply Hadi Fuaad, is a certified chemist, honored to be recognized under the Malaysia Chemist Act 1975. His academic journey has been an exciting one, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology with a specialization in Chemistry, followed by a remarkable Doctor of Philosophy from the prestigious University of Queensland, Australia. Till today, he had the privilege of immersing himself in diverse research cultures at six renowned institutes across Australia, Malaysia, and the United States. During his research endeavors, he had the pleasure of receiving specialized training on state-of-the-art equipment, including automatic peptide synthesizers (CSBio, Symphony X), NMR (Bruker), and MALDI-MS (Agilent, Shimadzu). These experiences were complemented by the invaluable guidance of exceptional researchers in modern peptide chemistry. Their expertise spans fascinating areas such as cyclotide synthesis, tarantula toxin, plant defensins, protease inhibitors, and conotoxins. His journey led him to the esteemed halls of Harvard University, where he honed his skills as a Nanotoxicology expert, delving into aerosol research under the mentorship of Professor Joseph Brain and Dr. Ramon Molina. Currently, his research focus revolves around the intriguing world of computational design, synthesis, and characterization of peptide antivirals and vaccines. Additionally, he is passionately involved in developing peptide-based carriers for peptide-based drugs (e.g. cancer), and biopesticides delivery. Beyond the laboratory, he finds great fulfillment in his role as a teacher and researcher, guiding and supporting four Ph.D. and two MSc students on their academic quests. To foster a collaborative environment, he warmly welcomes anyone with a zeal for furthering their studies or engaging in knowledge sharing and collaboration. DR. KUMAR A/L SELUAKUMARAN

Dr. Kumar is a seasoned medical lecturer with over 16 years of experience at the Department of Physiology, University Malaya. He holds a medical degree from Univerisity of Malaya and a PhD in auditory neuroscience from the University of Western Australia, where he was awarded the IPRS scholarship. As a dedicated educator, Dr. Kumar has taught physiology courses to medical students and mentored graduate students. He is also the principal investigator of an auditory research lab, focusing on innovative hearing screening methods. His research interests include audiometry, otoacoustic emissions, and auditory neuroscience. Dr. Kumar's work is driven by a commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with hearing impairments. His research aims to develop affordable and accessible hearing screening methods to address the global burden of hearing loss.
