ASSOCIATE PROF. SR DR. NOOR SUZAINI BINTI MOHAMED ZAID

Suzaini M. Zaid is currently teaching at the Department of Building Surveying in the Faculty of Built Environment and was the first EcoCampus Coordinator in Universiti Malaya. Suzaini holds a PhD in Planning and Urban Development from the Faculty of the Built Environment, University of New South Wales. Suzaini was part of the testing of the United Nations Environment Programme’s Sustainable Building and Climate Initiative (UNEP-SBCI)’s Common Carbon Metric and Protocol in the Malaysian context through her PhD research.    Her current research interest focuses on green intervention strategies through vertical greenery systems, operational energy, and user behaviour, which accumulated in multiple journal publications and her first book titled “Human Impact on Climate Change: Mitigation and Adaptation in the Built Environment”. She has teaching experience in the fields of building surveying, urban planning, and sustainable development.    Suzaini is also a professionally certified Green Building Index (GBI) Facilitator and a Malaysian Carbon Reduction and Environmental Sustainability Tool (MyCREST) Qualified Professional. She is determined to positively impact the built environment through green interventions to address the existential crisis of climate change.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. SAMEER KUMAR

Dr. Sameer has a PhD in Social Networking and is presently working as Associate Professor at Asia-Europe Institute, University of Malaya. He has over two decades of work experience in the industry and academia and also holds a PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification from PMI, USA. Dr. Sameer has been consistently ranked in the World's Top 2% Scientists list (released by Stanford University and Elsevier) from 2021 to 2024 (present) - Field: Social Sciences.  At Asia-Europe Institute (AEI) Dr. Sameer has taught courses at the Masters level on Information Technology K-Economy, Social and economic dimensions of Digital Economy, History of Southeast Asia and Research Methods . He has been the Program Co-ordinator for International Masters in Information Management (2014 - 2016) and is currently the Programme Co-ordinator for International Masters in ASEAN Studies program (2016 -). He is the founding Managing Editor of AEI Insights (an official AEI peer reviewed journal) since 2014. During 2015 he was the visiting scientist at Ilmenau University of Technology, Germany.    His current research and teaching interests are in the field of Social Networks, Data Analytics, Educational Technologies, Social informatics, Digital economy in Asia-Europe, and History of Southeast Asia. Dr. Sameer has successfully completed grant-based research projects (High Impact Research and UM Frontier Science Research) as Principal Investigator and a bilateral interational project (ETH- Switzerland funded). He has organised international workshops and events and has chaired panels in international foras. He is the life member of Computer Society of India and member of several national and international research centers and associations. He has several papers published in ISI-Web of Science indexed journals (publishers include Springer, Emerald, Wiley, McMillan Palgrave, Elsevier and others). He has regularly reviewed for top ISI journals including JMIR, PlosOne, JASIST, Scienometrics, and several others and supervises candidates at both Masters and PhD levels.

PROF. DR. CHIN AI-VYRN

  Professor Dr Chin Ai-Vyrn is a consultant Geriatrician in UMMC and UMSC. He trained in Dublin, Ireland and was the lead Clinical and Research Fellow at Mercer's Institute for Research in Ageing and Lecturer in Gerontology, Trinity College, Dublin prior to returning to Malaysia. Dr Chin has a Doctorate in Medicine from Trinity College, Dublin and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh. He is also is a founder member of the Ageing and Age Associated Disorders Research Group in University Malaya as well as the Malaysian Society of Geriatric Medicine. He remains committed to the development of clinical services, research and education of Geriatric Medicine in Malaysia.
