Biography | |
Dr Khoo Wee Vien was born in Sungai Petani, Kedah in 1985. She is the eldest child in the family and her parents were teachers. She attended primary and secondary education in SRJK (C) Sin Min A and SMK Ibrahim, Sungai Petani. With her straight A1s for SPM, she was awarded JPA scholarship to further her studies in the United Kingdom. She studied Medicine in University of Nottingham and obtained a double degree of Bachelor of Biomedical Science (BSc) and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with Honours. She also received the Hilda Margery Cuff Prize for best student in Medical posting. Upon completion of tertiary education, she came back to Malaysia to commence her service to the country. She did her housemanship in University Malaya Medical Centre and joined UMMC as a service Medical Officer later. She furthered her training in Master of Paediatrics and obtained a membership with RCPCH as well. She is currently continuing her sub-specialty training in Developmental Paediatrics. Currently, her role as clinical lecturer involves teaching and training of medical students and postgraduate trainees of MPaeds, planning and preparation of exams, performing research and publications. She is a General Paediatrician, taking care of inpatients and performing administrative duties within the Paediatric Department. |
