Dr. Kwong Soke Chee presently holds the position of Research Officer at the Centre for Population Health (CePH), Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine. In addition to conducting research, her current role focuses on maximising collaborative opportunities by establishing a platform encompasses diverse stakeholders, funding avenues, and infrastructure. With a background spanning the past 2-3 years, she has served as a technology transfer officer at the Universiti Malaya Centre of Innovation and Enterprise (UMCIE), where she gained invaluable experience in managing lifescience patents and projects within the university. Her expertise encompasses diverse domains, including medical devices, natural products, digital health, and aquaculture, reflecting her focused dedication to advancing innovation in these areas. During her tenure at UMCIE, her primary responsibilities revolved around establishing an innovation and commercialization ecosystem. This encompassed various tasks, including managing patents within the university, which involved conducting intellectual property (IP) screening, interviewing researchers, and deliberating on IP development pathways. Additionally, she worked to enhance the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of patents to facilitate their commercialization. Another aspect of her role involved securing new projects and funding from industry partners to further advance innovation initiatives. She is officially certified as an RTTP (Registered Technology Transfer Professional), a recognition that highlights her expertise and commitment to driving research innovation toward real-world applications. |
