Biography | |
Graduated from Institute of Medicine (1), Yangon University in 1982. Appointed as Medical officer under Ministry of Health, Myanmar in 1985. Won First Prize ( Gold Medal) during Public Service Training Course (Zeya-79) from Central Public Service University, Myanmar. Served at Mandalay General Hospital, Central Women's Hospital and UNICEF(Yangon) till 1993. Joined UMMC in 1999. Successfully completed Master in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (with Distinction), University of Malaya in 2004. Appointed as Lecturer since 2006, then promoted to Senior Lecturer, and then, promoted to Associate Professor in 2015. Pursuing PhD as part-time candidate in Pharmaclogy and Gynae-cancer for new drug discovery, and successfully presented for Candidature defence in 2015. Keen interest in innovative research. Many projects in collaboration with other departments including Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Parasitology, Preventive and Social Medicine and Physiology department of FOM,UM. Actively involving in teaching undergraduate, postgraduate students and PhD students, not only in O&G department, but also in other departments such as Primary Care Medicine Department, Social and Preventive Medicine Department, Emergency Medicine Department and Nursing College of University of Malaya. Attended "Oxford CEBM Workshop on Teaching Evidence- Based Medicine" at St. Hugh College, University of Oxford, UK, sponsored by Oxford University and University of Malaya in September 2010. Actively involving many community projects, such as Cancer Survivior support group, Philantrophic blood donation Group, Disable homes, and Community health education and health care promotion. With Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia(OGSM), training young doctors, Specialists and nurses for Obstetric Emergency, not only in Malaysia, but also other developing countries of ASEAN region (Endorsed by Asia Oceana Federation of Obstetrics & Gynaecology). Awarded as "Best Lecturer" of The Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department, UM, in 2012. Received "Sijil Perkhidmatan Cemerlang" (Certificate for Excellent Service) from University Malaya, 2016. |
