Biography | |
Dr Lim Quan Hziung obtained his both his MBBS and Masters in Internal Medicine degrees at the University of Malaya. He is now serving as a Medical Lecturer in his alma mater and holds multiple administrative roles. He has supervised numerous masters and undergraduate medical students and is actively involved in multiple research projects. He is a committee member of the Diabetes Care Unit, University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), where he treats patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, and coordinates delivery of comprehensive diabetes care. He is currently undergoing advanced training for fellowship in Endocrinology at University of Malaya Medical Centre. He is regularly engaged for talks with junior doctors and the public to share on topics on Endocrinology and Diabetes. He has been invited for national media appearances, and has had articles published in various local media. His research interests includes type 1 and type 2 diabetes, population metabolic health, obesity and its related comorbidities. He has published in multiple international medical journals including The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology, Diabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, Journal of Diabetes Investigation, Journal of Sleep Research, British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and the Journal of the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies (JAFES). His work has been presented at international conferences including the United States Endocrine Society annual conference (ENDO 2022) virtually, ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Society (AFES) Congress, and the International Diabetes Epidemiology Group biennial symposium. |
