Mohammad Khairi Mokthar, currently is a  Lecturer at Dance Department Faculty of Creative Arts, Universiti Malaya. He graduated with Master of Fine Arts in Dance Performance (majoring contemporary dance) in Korea National University of Arts, Korea under the scholarship offered by Korea Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. He exposed to Malay traditional dance at teenage age and received his tertiary dance education in National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA), Malaysia whereby he was formally trained in various types of dance including Malay classical and folk dance, Chinese folk dance, ethnic dance, and Indian classical dance.

In ASWARA, he completed his Diploma in Dance in 2010 and Bachelor of Dance (Performance) in 2013. In 2013, he formally qualified as Indian classical dancer through his debut in Bharatanatyam Arangetram. He works professionally in England in the Shobana Jeyasingh Dance for Classic Cut Tour 2012, which continued in 2013. He was once the principal dancer in ASK Dance Company.

In early 2015 he won Best Choreographer in Full-length Work in 12th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards Malaysia along with Mohd Yunus Ismail, Nurbaizura Abdul Ghani and Shankar Kandasamy which organised by Kakiseni. He won 2nd prize in Seoul International Dance Competition in 2015 and 2016. In 2017, he is awarded as Top 10 New Generation Malaysian Cultural Dancers organized by Top 10 of Malaysia. He was once a Full-time dancer at Inner Space Dance Company until August 2017, Part-time lecturer for Faculty Music and Performing Arts at Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) and Couch for Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Seni at National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA) until early 2018. In 2019 he received The Shining Star Awards organised by Uniques Arts Culture and Heritage Foundation with the collaboration of Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture Malaysia.
