Zubaidah Ya'cob held a PhD with Distinction in Biology (vectors entomology) from the Universiti Malaya in September 2017. She has continued her enthusiasm as a senior lecturer at the Higher Centre of Excellence (HICoE) Tropical Infectious Diseases Research & Education Centre (TIDREC) up to the present. She has published over 70 research articles in ISI-indexed journals and is an active reviewer for numerous high-quality journals, including publishers from Elsevier and Springer. She is a council member of the Entomological Society of Malaysia (ENTOMA), an active life member of the national society, Entomological Malaysia (ENTOMA) and the Association of Public Health Entomology (PEKA) as well as member in the senior Malaysian Parasitology and Tropical Medicine (MSPTM), Malaysia Society for Environmental Epidemiology (MySEE) and International Society of Global Health (ISoGH). Her leading research is in vector-borne infectious diseases, which currently focus on dipteran flies, ticks, chiggers and fleas and their roles in the transmission of infectious agents in their natural environments. She was awarded several international and national research grants as well as community grants (as PI and Co-researcher) in the health-related field, including from the Biotechnology and Biological Resource Council (BBSRC) (UK), The Royal Society (UK), Wellcome Trust (UK), International Science Partnership Fund (ISPF) (UK), Institute Research & Development (French), Fundamental Research Grant Scheme and SUKUK Prihatin (MoHE Malaysia) and UMCARES (UM). She actively collaborates with national and international institutions/universities, including the University of Liverpool (UK), the University of Clemson (USA), the University of Mahidol, and the University Maha Sarakham, Thailand, for the epidemiology of vector-borne research in the Southeast Asia region including scrub typhus, Rickettsioses, Mansonellosis and other parasitic diseases carried by arthropod vectors. She was also involved in other significant health-related projects, including One Health's approach to evaluating the role of oil palm in the spread of vector and zoonotic diseases and integrated biosurveillance of wildlife pathogens (zoonotic) circulating in Malaysia. In 2020, she visited Cameroon, sub-Sahara Africa, to evaluate the novel diagnostic screening tool for detecting the Onchocerca parasites over six months.  In 2019, she was invited by the Taiwan Centre of Disease Control (CDC) as a resource person to assist in a vector control program. Since 2010, she has been involved in black fly surveillance across Asian countries (i.e. Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and recently Taiwan) and contributed to novel findings in discovering 108 new black fly species to science. She is actively involved in the community engagement program, particularly with schoolchildren and indigenous people across Malaysia, aiming to share knowledge and raise awareness of vectors of disease agents. She received appreciation from Universiti Malaya in 2021 as an Excellence Employee and, in 2023, the Universiti Malaya Excellent Award (ACUM) in the Community Engagement category for young employees (less than five years).

Associate Professor Dr. Anis Salwa Mohd Khairuddin is currently affiliated at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya. She is also a Chartered Engineer registered under the Engineering Council, U.K. and a member of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS). In addition, she serves as Malaysia Focal point for Sub-Committee on Microelectronics and Information Technology (SCMIT) in ASEAN COSTI (from year 2020 until current). The Committee on Science, Technology & Innovation (COSTI) is responsible for operationalizing and translating the APASTI strategic thrusts into specific actions.  As for administrative responsibilities, she was the Final year Project (FYP) Coordinator from 2015/2016 until 2019/2020. Consecutively, she was appointed as the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) coordinator since 2020/2021 until 2023/2024. Currently, she is the Head of Department for the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya. In addition, she serves as the Head of Centre of Intelligent Systems for Emerging Technology (CISET), Faculty of Engineering, UM. Her research expertise lies in pattern recognition area, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence by developing computationally intelligent algorithms for spatial and temporal signal processing.  She works on the application of machine learning methods to solve various pattern recognition problems in precision agriculture, smart manufacturing, and energy management. Loo Fung Ying is Associate Professor of cultural musicology and the Dean of Faculty of Creative Arts, Universiti Malaya. She teaches cultural musicology and research methodology. After obtaining her Fellowship (Trinity College of London) and Bachelor of Music (Hons) in piano performance (Universiti Putra Malaysia), she furthered her music study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she received her Master of Music in Piano Performance with distinction. She studied piano under Michael Schreider, Barno Haknazarov, Larisa Rakhmanova, and Lillian Joseph, and had master classes conducted by Artur Pizzaro, Boris Berman, Irina Osipova, Julian Jacobson, Richard MacMahon, Olga Malissova, and Ng Chong Lim. As a pianist, her performances locally and abroad included the first piano concertos of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky under the baton of Zakhid Khaknazarov, recitals at St. John’s Smith Square and St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and a recording for Ceri Richard’s Themes and Variations published by National Museums and Galleries of Wales, UK. Fung Ying continues to pursue research in music and completed her PhD at the University of Sheffield, UK in 2009. Her research interests include cultural musicology, performance practice, popular music, music and movement perception, and Tai Chi in application to the physicality of piano performance.  She joined Universiti Malaya in 2009 and has published over sixty refereed articles and book chapters. Her work has appeared in International Review of the Aesthetics and Sociology of Music, Muzikološki Zbornik, Revista Música Hodie, Asian Theatre Journal, International Journal of Music Education, IEEE Multimedia, Women's History Review, Media Watch, Journal of Popular television, New Ideas in Psychology and The Routledge Companion to Women and Musical Leadership. Her research has been supported by grants from the Ministry of Higher Education, Universiti Malaya, and Universiti Putra Malaysia, and won her gold and silver awards at local and international research exhibitions. She is a member of the International Editorial Board of eTropic and Media Watch. She has held positions such as Deputy Director (Postgraduate study and Research) of Cultural Centre (now Faculty of Creative Arts), Universiti Malaya (from 2010 to 2018, and April 2024 to March 2025), Chair of Academic Programmes Accreditation Panel for PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor degree level (Malaysian Qualifications Agency), Internal Auditor of MYRA (Malaysia Research Assessment, Ministry of Higher Education), and Associate Editor of Malaysian Journal of Performing and Visual Arts. As an active composer and musician with the multiple award-winning Dama Orchestra (now Dama Asia Productions) from 2001 to 2016, she has over twenty productions to date, five albums and three sold-out musicals: Empress Wu, I Have a Date with Spring and Butterfly Lovers. In addition, her composition titled Freedom won second prize at the 2022 Seoul International Meditation Music Competition.
