ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. JUDHA PURBOLAKSONO

  Judha Purbolaksono is currently working with University of Malaya for the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He was born in a small town, Ngawi, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Alhamdulillah, he is presently given an opportunity to sit in the Editorial Board Member for Case Studies in Engineering Failure Analysis (CSEFA), Elsevier B.V. After graduating from a high school (SMA Negeri 3, now named SMU Negeri 2) in Ngawi (in 1989), he pursued a further study and alhamdulillah received a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 1995. Then, he joined Indonesian Aircraft Industries Ltd. (PT. IPTN/ Dirgantara Indonesia/ Indonesian Aerospace Ltd), Bandung, Indonesia as a Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics engineer from 1995 to 1999. Alhamdulillah, while working with PT. IPTN, he was given a sponsorship by Ministry of National Education, Indonesia, through URGE (University Research for Graduate Education) programme for pursuing master degree in Mechanical Engineering at Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), Indonesia (completed in 1998). In October 1999, alhamduluillah, he was awarded a prominent PhD studentship from the Queen Mary and Westfield Research Council, University of London, and alhamdulillah he successfully accomplished his PhD in Computational Mechanics in 2003.  Prior to joining Universiti Tenaga Nasional in July 2004, he was working as a visiting researcher at Inter University Center, Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), Indonesia. With the permissions of Allah SWT, he has been grateful to have some articles and works in the areas of failure analysis, fracture mechanics, finite element and boundary element, computational structural mechanics and structural modeling. Nothing exists without the wills of Allah SWT. He is hoping some of his works are useful and beneficial to the people working in the respective fields, insya Allah. He is seeking more spiritual life referring to the principles in Islam (Al-Quran and Sunnah Rasul), insya Allah. His idol is Prophet Muhammad SAW, the messenger of Allah and the greatest ever person in the world. Oh Allah, bestow blessings upon Prophet Muhammad and his family, companions and allies. Let us always refer to Al-Quran and Sunnah Rasulullah to guide our daily life while the end of the world is approaching .

DR. MOHD HANIFF BIN ZAINULDIN

Dr. Mohd Haniff Zainuldin is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business & Economics, Universiti Malaya (UM), with over 15 years of experience in academia. He obtained his PhD in Accounting from the University of South Australia (UniSA) in 2015, specialising in financial reporting, Islamic banks, and ethics. He also holds a Master of Accountancy from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Corporate Finance from the University of Adelaide, Australia.Dr. Haniff plays a key role in professional accreditation and academic quality assurance. He has served as a Panel Assessor for the accreditation of accounting programs at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak and Northern Kuala Lumpur International College. He is also an External Examiner for ACCA-accredited diploma programs and an External Course Reviewer for advanced diploma programs in accounting. In addition, he was the Liaison Officer for ICAEW-UM and a member of the ICAEW Strategic Credit Papers Committee, contributing to the integration of ICAEW-accredited courses into the Universiti Malaya’s accounting programs.His research focuses on environmental, social and governance (ESG), financial accounting and reporting, corporate governance, Islamic accounting, and Islamic banking and finance. Dr. Haniff has published extensively in high-impact journals such as Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, International Journal of Bank Marketing, and the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal. He has also been an active reviewer for prestigious journals, including Sustainability, Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting, and Emerging Markets Review.Dr. Haniff has secured multiple external research grants, including funding from the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) for the development of ESG performance measurement models for banks in Malaysia, as well as grants from Universitas Indonesia and private funding sources, to explore ESG and sustainability issues in financial markets across Asia. His research contributions provide valuable insights into sustainable finance, ethical corporate governance, and the integration of Islamic principles in financial reporting.Beyond academia, Dr. Haniff actively contributes to the accounting profession through his advisory roles in academic accreditation and professional certification programs, ensuring high-quality education and industry relevance in accounting education.

DR. SIOW PEI YI

Dr. Siow Pei Yi is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. Her research focuses on hybrid modal-machine learning damage diagnosis methods and digital twins for structural health monitoring. Research interests are structural health monitoring, machine learning, vibration, modal analysis, virtual instrumentation, computational mechanics, and signal processing. She is registered as a Graduate Engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). She has also been actively involved in industrial projects on structural and machinery vibration at semiconductor and on-shore oil, gas and petrochemical processing plants in Malaysia since 2019.
