He was born in Pahang, Kampung Gali Hilir, Raub and growing up in Kampung Budu, Kuala Lipis Pahang. His early studies began at Kampung Budu, Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Budu and later at Al-Ulum Ad-Diniah Religious Secondary School, Raub, Pahang. DR. WANG KAH LUN presently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya.
