PROF. DR. NURUL SHAHNAZ BINTI AHMAD MAHDZAN

Dr. Nurul Shahnaz Ahmad Mahdzan is a Professor and served as the Head at the Department of Finance, Faculty of Business & Economics, University of Malaya from 2019-2023. She obtained her PhD from the Nottingham University Business School, UK; MBA (with Distinction) from the University of Malaya; and BBA (Finance) (Summa Cum Laude) from Ohio University, USA. Her research passion is in the area of Consumer Finances, particularly on the issues of financial behaviour and economic psychology of households - this includes their financial literacy, financial well-being, fintech adoption, financial attitudes, saving behaviour, investment risk-taking behaviour, and gullibility to financial fraud victimisation. She also has an interest in studies related to the financial services industry, particularly in insurance and risk management. Her current research project involves FinTech usage among millenials and the Gen X's and how this impacts financial well-being. Recently, she was invited as a Plenary Speaker at the National Financial Literacy Symposium (NFLS 2023) to share her views on the state of financial literacy and financial well-being among Malaysians. She has also appeared in numerous national TV, radio and print media where her views on personal finance and economic issues have been sought. She has been appointed as a panel of assessor for the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) research grants since year 2020 to date. Additionally, she has been invited to speak on several local industrial platforms on the topic of Consumer Finances. She has been invited as guest speaker at international symposiums and platforms that discuss financial and economic issues pertaining to the Malaysian context. Her deep interest and engagement in the area of Consumer Finances stems from her ten-year experience working in financial services, where she mainly dealt with consumers and their personal finances. It was then that her passion the area began and continues till today, as reflected in her research, publications and other activities.

MADAM NUR FITRI BINTI YUSOFF

Nur Fitri binti Yusoff memperoleh Ijazah Sarjana Muda Syariah (al-Fiqh dan Usul al-Fiqh) dari Universiti Al-Albayt, Jordan pada tahun 2018. Seterusnya, beliau melanjutkan pengajian dalam Diploma Pascasiswazah Pendidikan (Pendidikan Islam) di Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) pada tahun 2022 dan berjaya menamatkannya pada tahun 2023. Semasa menuntut di Jordan, beliau diberikan amanah dan tanggungjawab sebagai Timbalan Bendahari dan Ahli Majlis Tertinggi, Persatuan Mahasiswa Malaysia Universiti Al-Albayt (PRISMA). Dalam peranan ini, beliau terlibat aktif dalam pelbagai program yang dianjurkan oleh persatuan, memberikan beliau pengalaman berharga dalam pengurusan dan kepimpinan. Selepas kembali ke Malaysia, beliau berkhidmat dalam pelbagai peranan berkaitan pendidikan. Antaranya, beliau pernah menjadi Guru Kelas al-Quran dan Fardu Ain (KAFA) di bawah Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor, guru ganti Pendidikan Islam di bawah Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Seremban, dan pernah bertugas sebagai Guru KAFA di bawah Jabatan Hal Ehwal Agama Islam Negeri Sembilan. Dengan latar belakang akademik dan pengalaman yang ada, beliau kini bertugas sebagai Pensyarah Asasi di Akademi Pengajian Islam Universiti Malaya, Pusat Pendidikan Universiti Malaya (UMEC), Bachok, Kelantan (Oktober 2024-kini).

DR. LIEW SOOK YEE

ChM. Dr. Liew Sook Yee (MRSC) is a senior lecturer in Chemistry Division, Centre for Foundation Studies in Science, Universiti Malaya. She obtained a BSc from Universiti of Terengganu (UMT) in 2010 with first class honour and have been awarded “Anugerah Graduan Terbaik Keseluruhan Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi/Program Sarjana Muda Sains (Sains Kimia)”. Then, she directly pursued PhD study (fast track) with SLAI scholarship in UM and graduated in 2014. Her fields of expertise and specialization are Natural Product Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Bioorganic Chemistry, Enzyme Inhibition and Kinetic studies. She has plenty of experience in isolating and purifying compounds as well as structural elucidation of compounds. She also developed her expertise in cutting-edge techniques which is 13C NMR-based dereplication in natural product studies. She is a member of Royal Chemistry of Society (UK) and Institut Kimia Malaysia as well as an associate member of CENAR (UM). Her research works are conducted in Phytolab (IFM NatProLab), Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and she welcomes all the collaborations from academician, scientist, researcher, company and etc.
