PROF. DR. JEANNIE WONG HSIU DING

Jeannie Wong studied Biomedical Engineering, followed by Master of Medical Physics at the Universiti Malaya. She received her PhD from the University of Wollongong, Australia. She started her career at the Department of Biomedical Imaging, Faculty of Medicine, the University of Malaya as a senior lecturer in 2011. She coordinated the UM Master of Medical Physics programme from 2013 to 2017, which is accredited by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), UK. It is the only postgraduate medical physics programme outside the UK and Ireland that has this accreditation. During her PhD study, she was instrumental in the development of a new field of medical dosimetry in radiation therapy quality assurance with high spatial resolution semiconductor dosimetry and its applications in radiation therapy quality assurance. She has since further extended her research to include dosimetry in diagnostic imaging and patient-specific dosimetry. She has published more than 60 papers to date. She was promoted to associate professor in 2018. Her research interests include radiation dosimetry, radiotherapy, medical imaging and radiomics. She had supervised 1 postdoctoral candidate, 4 PhD students, 2 masters by research students, and more than 37 masters by coursework students. Dr Wong has vast experience in the teaching of physics and biostatistics at the postgraduate level. She has been involved as lecturer and examiner for the Master of Radiology and Master of Clinical Oncology at the University of Malaya since 2012. Her research interest are radiation dosimetry, medical imaging, radiotherapy and radiomics. IN 2019, she received the Southeast Asian Federation of Organizations of Medical Physics (SEAFOMP) Young Leader Award.

PROF. DR. ZAHARAH BINTI HUSSIN

    Dr. Zaharah Hussin is a Professor in the Department of Educational Foundation and Humanities, Faculty of Education, Universiti  Malaya (UM) born in Kedah. Prior to that, she was a secondary school teacher, SLAB tutor, lecturer and senior lecturer at UM. She is also a person who is also entrusted with administrative duties at UM since she started working as a lecturer in 1997 until now, starting from as the coordinator of Teaching Training, Head of Department and was the Deputy Dean (Higher Degree) in her Faculty. Her academic expertise is in the field of teacher training and educational research especially Islamic Education, Curriculum, Values ​​and Akhlak Education, philosophy in education, content analysis, Delphi techniques in research, model development and qualitative research in general. Dr. Zaharah is also active in publishing articles in national and international journals, academic books and presentations in conferences and webinars. Her book published by UM publisher entitled Akhlak  Education: Curriculum Analysis and Design was awarded the National Book Award 2018 Education category by the National Book Development Foundation in conjunction with the Book Fair 2018. He has also contributed teachers, researchers and experts particularly in Islamic Education field locally and internationally.

DR. ADIL BIN JOHAN

ADIL Johan is Deputy Executive Director (Academic and Student Affairs) at the Asia-Europe Institute and senior lecturer at the Faculty of Creative Arts, Universiti Malaya (UM). His research on music and popular culture considers interculturalism, cosmopolitanism, intimacy, affect and gender, focussing on the Malay world and Southeast Asia. He is author of Cosmopolitan Intimacies, a book on Independence-era Malay film music (NUS Press, 2018) and is co-editor of Made in Nusantara: Studies in popular music (Routledge, 2021). He has also published articles in the Journal of Intercultural Studies (2019); Kajian Malaysia (2019); JATI-Journal of Southeast Asian Studies (2022), Indonesia and the Malay World (2023) and Popular Music and Society (2025). He is currently the elected Chair for the Southeast Asian branch for the International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM-SEA). ADIL Johan ialah Timbalan Pengarah Eksekutif (Akademik dan Hal Ehwal Pelajar) di Institut Asia-Eropah dan pensyarah kanan di Fakulti Seni Kreatif, Universiti Malaya (UM). Kajiannya mengenai muzik dan budaya popular mempertimbangkan antara budaya, kosmopolitanisme, keintiman, pengaruh dan jantina, memfokuskan kepada alam Melayu dan Asia Tenggara. Beliau adalah pengarang Cosmopolitan Intimacies, sebuah buku mengenai muzik filem Melayu era Kemerdekaan (NUS Press, 2018) dan merupakan penyunting bersama buku Made in Nusantara: Studies in popular music (Routledge, 2021).
