DR. MUZALWANA BINTI ABDUL TALIB @ ABDUL MUTALIB

Dr. Muzalwana is a senior lecturer in the Department of Decision Science, Faculty of Business and Economics (FBEcons) (formerly known as the Faculty of Economics and Administration, FEA), where she has been serving since 2011. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics with a specialization in Statistical Quality Control (SQC) from the University of Malaya. She also earned her Master’s in Applied Statistics from FEA and a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Sheffield Hallam University, UK. As an applied statistician, Dr. Muzalwana’s research is inherently interdisciplinary, focusing on Statistical Quality Control, efficiency studies, and survey research. Her work extends SQC applications beyond manufacturing to domains such as environmental studies, efficiency measurement, and social science research. Dr. Muzalwana’s primary research interest lies in developing and applying statistical control schemes to analyze environmental variables in Malaysia. Her work includes the application of control charts to gain valuable insights into COVID-19 case trends in Malaysia and to monitor air quality patterns in compliance with the Malaysian Ambient Air Quality Standards. Other notable contributions include measuring the efficiency of higher education institutions with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), exploring retirement financial planning among civil servants, and examining the relationship between household income and life satisfaction among single mothers in Malaysia. Her recent publications include Pasaran Dadah dari Perspektif Socio-ekonomi Malaysia (The Malaysian Drug Market from Socio-Economic Perspectives) and an edited volume, Post-Pandemic Economic and Social Development: Recovery, Challenges, and Policy in Malaysia. These works contribute significantly to the social sciences and public discourse on critical societal challenges. A passionate educator, Dr. Muzalwana designed the course Statistical Methods for Quality Management for the Master’s in Applied Statistics program at FBEcons and has been teaching it since 2012. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she specializes in graduate-level courses in statistical quality management and marketing research techniques, as well as undergraduate courses in statistics and management decision-making. Dr. Muzalwana has supervised more than 50 Master’s students and 14 Ph.D. candidates over the past decade, playing a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of scholars in her field.

DR. NOR HAZRUL MOHD SALLEH

Nor Hazrul bin Mohd. Salleh adalah anak kelahiran negeri Kelantan. Dilahirkan pada 23 Mac 1971 di Kg. Manek Urai, Kuala Krai, Kelantan. Mendapat pendidikan awal di SK Alor Bakat dari tahun 1978-1983. Kemudian menyambung pengajian ke SMKA Falahiah, Pasir Pekan, Kelantan dari tahun 1984-1987. Selepas itu, meneruskan pengajian peringkat menengah di Kolej Islam Kelang dari 1987-1989. Seterusnya melanjutkan pelajaran ke Universiti Hasan II, Mohammedia, Morocco pada tahun 1989-1991. Kemudian berpindah ke Universiti Mohamed V, Rabat, Morocco dari tahun 1991-1995 dan memperoleh Ijazah Sarjana Muda Bahasa dan Kesusasteraan Arab (pengkhususan Sastera Arab). Mendapat Diploma Pendidikan (Bahasa Arab/Pendidikan Islam) daripada Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) pada tahun 1997. Seterusnya menyambung pelajaran peringkat Sarjana di Universiti Malaya dan dianugerahkan ijazah Sarjana Pengajian Bahasa Moden (MMLS-Master of Modern Language Studies) pengkhususan Fonetik Arab pada tahun 2010. Dianugerahkan Ijazah Doktor Falsafah (Ph.D Edu) bidang Pendidikan (Teaching Arabic to non-Arabic Speakers) daripada Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) pada tahun 2017. Pernah berkhidmat sebagai guru di sekolah-sekolah Yayasan Islam Kelantan (YIK) tahun 1996-1998. Kemudian bertugas sebagai Pensyarah/Pegawai Latihan di Pusat Bahasa Arab (PBA), YIK dari tahun 1999-2003. Dilantik sebagai Guru Bahasa di Akademi Pengajian Islam, Universiti Malaya Nilam Puri, Kelantan (APIUMNP) mulai 2003 dan sekarang menyandang jawatan Guru Bahasa Kanan sejak 17 Mei 2010. Diamanahkan tanggungjawab sebagai Penyelaras Bahasa Arab APIUMNP mulai 16 September 2006 hingga 2011. Dilantik sebagai Penyelaras Program Khas Bahasa Arab (PKBA) dari 02 Jun 2022 hingga sekarang. Diamanahkan juga sebagai Pengetua Kolej Kediaman Nilam  Puri (sekarang Kolej Kediaman UMEC Bachok) mulai 1 Ogos 2010 hingga sekarang.

DR. SITI IDAYU BINTI HASAN

Dr. Siti Idayu Hasan is a Senior Lecturer in the Family Health Discipline at the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. After completing her PhD, she embarked on a significant journey as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UMCAS, collaborating with the International Tobacco Control project team in Canada. Her work focused on measuring the psychosocial and behavioral impact of key national-level policies under the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). She is a Fellow of Hong Kong WHO Collaborating Centre (Tobacco Control) and Committee Member of Scientific Research Tobacco Working Group (WHO FCTC Malaysia). Continuing her career, Dr. Siti Idayu became the Impact Project Manager at UMCares. In this role, she led the development and management of frameworks to monitor, evaluate, and enhance the effectiveness of community-oriented projects. Her efforts have been pivotal in ensuring that these initiatives bring about meaningful and sustainable improvements in society. Dr. Siti Idayu’s current research themes include tobacco control, mental health, and impact evaluation. Her work in tobacco control encompasses projects like Smoking Cessation, Organizing, Planning, and Execution (SCOPE), Generational Endgame (GEG), and the International Tobacco Control (ITC) project. She is also deeply involved in mental health research, aiming to address and mitigate mental health issues within the community. Beyond her research, Dr. Siti Idayu consults in the expanding field of public health, with a particular focus on tobacco control and mental health. She enjoys engaging with the community through health promotion activities, such as the Generational Endgame initiative, conducted in various settings (i.e. workplace, school and public) to raise awareness and drive positive behavioral change. Dr. Siti Idayu's commitment to improving public health is unwavering. Her work is not just about research and academia; it’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and communities. She believes that through collaborative efforts and a deep-seated commitment to health promotion, we can create a healthier, more resilient future for everyone. Her journey inspires others to join in the mission of bettering our communities and making impactful contributions to public health.
