ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. HANIZAH BINTI IDRIS

Associate Professor Dr. Hanizah Idris is an academic staff at the Department of Southeast Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, currently serve as the Head of Department. She also had an experience in holding other administrative post at the faculty level and has been appointed as a Deputy Dean (undergraduate) from 2010-2014. Her area of research is on maritime development in Southeast Asia focusing on port and shipping as well as policy and governance of maritime sector in the region. Her area of research also covers other interesting area such as maritime tourism and sustainable development of the maritime sector. Dr. Hanizah has always been invited as a speaker in international conference and seminar and working closely with the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA), a think tank for Malaysia's maritime industry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Department of Maritime Affairs), and port authorities in Malaysia. She has also contributed in sharing her expertise with government agencies on various issues related to maritime affairs in the region, including the Ministry of Foreign affairs, Maritime Division, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Department of Statistic, Malaysia, Institute of Strategic Studies (ISIS), Malaysia and with industries as well. Dr. Hanizah has involved in collaborations with foreign universities including Miami University, USA, Yonsei University, Korea, Soka University, Japan and Sindh University, Pakistan in terms of academic activities, students mobility programs and conferences. Her latest publications including a chapter in book titled "Realizing Blue Economy Potential in Malaysia, Opportunities and Challenges".(2023). ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. MOHD NAZRI BIN ABDUL RAHMAN

Dr. Mohd Nazri Abdul Rahman is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education and the Coordinator of the Community Engagement Section (UMCares), Universiti Malaya. He began his career as a teacher (Guru Cemerlang) at SM St. Mary, Sandakan (1998–2007), before serving as a Pensyarah Cemerlang at the Teacher Education Institute, Kent Campus, Sabah (2008–2014), and later at the Teacher Education Institute, Tuanku Bainun Campus, Penang (2015). In November 2015, he joined the Faculty of Education, Universiti Malaya. He holds a PhD in Curriculum Design and Development from Universiti Malaya. He is actively involved in research and publications in the areas of early childhood education, homeschooling, indigenous education, and teaching and learning innovation. He is particularly well known for developing a homeschooling model for Orang Asli children, which has reframed conventional approaches to teaching Orang Asli learners by leveraging the strengths of alternative education in Malaysia. His scholarly works have been published in both Malaysian and international journals. He has also authored several books, including Pendidikan Alternatif Homeschooling, Design and Developmental Research, and Kurikulum: Satu Disiplin yang Dinamik. Dr. Mohd Nazri has received numerous recognitions for his teaching and research achievements, including the Faculty of Education Excellent Postgraduate Student Award (2014), Excellent Thesis Award (2014), Anugerah Cemerlang Universiti Malaya (Penyelidik Muda) (2018), Anugerah Jalinan Masyarakat UMCares (2017), Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (2020), and Sijil Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (2023). He is also a recipient of the Anugerah Guru Inovatif Kebangsaan in 2003, 2004, and 2006 for his teaching and learning innovation projects. In addition, he has been involved in consultancy projects and research related to bullying, community engagement, and future education.

DR. NORHASLIZA BINTI YUSOF

Dr. Norhasliza Yusof is a senior lecturer in the Department of Physics at the University of Malaya, specializing in computational physics, stellar evolution, and nuclear astrophysics. She earned her PhD and MSc in Theoretical Nuclear Astrophysics, as well as a BSc in Applied Physics, all from the University of Malaya. Additionally, she was awarded the prestigious Commonwealth Split-Site PhD Scholarship, which allowed her to conduct part of her doctoral research at Keele University, enhancing her expertise in astrophysics and fostering international collaboration. Her research focuses on the evolution and fate of very massive stars, the impact of rotation on stellar models, and neutrino emissions in massive stars. Notable publications include studies on the R136 star cluster, which hosts several stars exceeding the previously accepted 150 solar mass limit, and the development of grids of stellar models with rotation at various metallicities. Dr. Yusof is an active member of the International Astronomical Union, contributing to Divisions G (Stars and Stellar Physics) and H (Interstellar Matter and Local Universe). She leads the Theoretical Physics Group at the University of Malaya, mentoring students and collaborating with international researchers. Her work has been recognized with awards such as the  the Top Ten Entries in the 2016 Taylor & Francis Commonwealth Scholar Best Journal Article Prize. Through her research and dedication, Dr. Yusof continues to advance the field of astrophysics and inspire future scientists.
