Afiq received his First-Class Honors Degree in Biotechnology from the Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) in 2013. He received the MUST President's Award for academic excellence and being the most accomplished student in his class. In 2014, he decided to follow his passion for research and enrolled in an MSc program in Genetic Manipulation and Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Sussex, UK. After completing his MSc program, Afiq gained valuable research experience by working as a research assistant at the Cancer Research Center (CaRC), Institute for Medical Research (IMR) in Kuala Lumpur. In 2015, he was awarded an Academic Training Fellowship (SLAB/SLAI) by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education to pursue his PhD at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. His doctoral research focuses on the discovery of new antiviral HIV-1 and VSV restriction factors. His findings have been published in reputable scientific journals and have gained the interest of the global scientific community. After completing his PhD in 2019, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the MRC-Centre for Virus Research (CVR) at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK. In 2020, he returned to Malaysia to work as a senior lecturer in the microbiology program at the Institute of Biological Sciences, Universiti Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur. He currently teaches public health microbiology, diagnostic microbiology, microbial pathogenesis, and virology to undergraduate students. In addition to teaching, he also conducts research on various aspects of microbiology, with a particular focus on viral diseases. His research aims to understand the mechanisms of viral replication and pathogenesis as well as develop novel strategies for the prevention and treatment of viral infections. He actively collaborates with other researchers, both locally and internationally, to contribute to the global understanding of infectious diseases. In 2023, he was awarded a prestigious ASEAN-India Research & Training (A-IRTF) Fellowship from the Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for 3-month research attachment at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi).

Dr. Moon Ting, Su, is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Software Engineering at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. She received her Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) and Master of Science (Computer Science) from University Putra Malaysia, and her Ph.D. (Computer Science) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Prior to joining the education sector, she was an analyst programmer. She was the industrial training coordinator for FCSIT from 2014 to 2016, and for the Department of SE from 2016 to 2018. She is the Master of Software Engineering (Software Technology) Programme Coordinator and the Head of MSE(ST) Dissertation Title Vetting Committee from 2020 to 2024. She has been or is a member of the curriculum committee and curriculum review committee for the Bachelor of Computer Science(SE) and MSE(ST). She is also a member of the Postgraduate Committee (2019 to present), Screening Committee for Academic Staff Appointment (2022 to present), and Committee for Interviewing International Student Applicants (2022). She is a member of the Research and Innovation in Software Engineering (RISE) Research Group of the department since 2016. She teaches programming and software design courses at the undergraduate level, ranging from Object-Oriented Programming (C++, Java), Data Structure (Java), Concept of Programming Languages, Advanced Programming (C#, .NET), Algorithm Analysis and Design, Software Architecture and Design Paradigms, Software Modelling, to Design Patterns. She also taught Project Management. At the postgraduate level, she teaches/had taught Software Engineering courses such as Architecting Software Systems/Software Architecture, Software Metrics, and Software Engineering Process and Practice. Her research expertise lies in software architecture knowledge management, software architecture documentation, software architecture information seeking, chunking and foraging; empirical software engineering; object-oriented design, design patterns; web services, end-user web services composition, end-user software development; mining crowdsourced knowledge (Stack Overflow), Application Programming Interface (API) recommenders; CASE tool (programming environment); virtual reality for the Internet. She is interested in many aspects of software design (including software architecture), which include capturing and representing generic and project-specific software design knowledge and design intent, supporting efficient and effective retrieval and usage of this knowledge to assist software designers and end-users in producing good software design that factors in modularity, modifiability, reusability, extensibility, evolvability and adaptability to cater for increasingly complex software systems. Her ultimate goals are to support Do-It-Yourself (or end-user software development) as well as automated software design, development and evolution, and apprenticeship in software design. Her latest research also includes the design and development of ethical software, software engineering aspects of robotics (humanoids), automating SE tasks with foundation models (such as LLM, large vision model), knowledge graph in software engineering, and GraphRAG. Dr. Sabzali Musa Kahn was born in Besut, Terengganu, Malaysia. He graduated with a degree in visual arts from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang. He then pursued his Masters in Education from Universiti Putra Malaysia and he obtained his Doctorate (Ph.D) in Architecture Studies from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He started his career as a consultant in government and corporate sectors. He was one of the committee who founded Universiti Industri Selangor, Malaysia (UNISEL). In addition, he was appointed as the secretariat member to develop the master action plan for the Ministry of Unity and Development Community, Malaysia. His participation in various major exhibitions organized by universities, galleries, state and National Art Gallery has greatly enhanced his knowledge and experience as an artist. He is also involved with visual arts research, theatre and workshops in the aspect of creative teaching for the pre-school children, people with disabilities and in curriculum development of visual art studies at the university level. He has won several competitions in art and design. Some of the awards obtained were Main Incentive gift from Art Media exhibition 2006, Special Award Art Media VIII,2009 and Special award Art Media IX,2010. He is the gold medalist for Innovation and Creativity EXPO 2010, University of Malaya, Malaysia. In 2015, he won the national gold medal at Innovation and Invention Competition Through Exhibition (iCompEx) and Cahaya Kasih President’s Award from Maybank, Malaysia. His research on the use of new materials and techniques in visual art production has won him Excellence University of Malaya Award for 2015 under the Arts and Creativity Category. He held position as the head jury for batik art drawing category at the international level which was organized by Rehabilitation Council Malaysia (MCR). He represented Malaysia for visual art category and was the first Malaysian selected to be head jury in the 8th International Abilympic 2011 at Seoul,Korea. His ongoing effort and contribution has brought gold medal to Malaysia in the International Abilympic 2011. This has been a great achievement for the country at the international level to have won a gold medal for the last 32 years. Dr. Sabzali active participation in the social work at local and international level has made great impact to the society. Creativity activities and education based on visual art are incorporated into his social works. He was the Visual Art Coordinator and Deputy Director (undergraduate) at the Cultural Centre, University Malaya. Currently, he is the Dean at Academy of Malay Studies, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
