Biography | |
Chia Jee Luen (1984- ) was born in Pantai Remis, Perak. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduates studies in the Department of Chinese Studies, Universiti Malaya and successively obtained a Ph.D. in Ancient Literature from Shandong University in 2019. He previously served as a researcher for the “Research, Translation, and Publication of Dream of the Red Chamber in Malaysia (Mimpi Di Mahligai Merah)” project. He is currently a senior lecturer and also a researcher at the Dream of the Red Chamber Research Center in the Department of Chinese Studies, Universiti Malaya. He holds the position of council member of the Persatuan Siswazah Jabatan Pengajian Tionghoa (PEJATI) and is a member of the The Writers’ Association of Chinese Medium of Malaysia. His teaching and research fields include classical Chinese novels such as A Dream of Red Chamber and literary dissemination studies. He co-edited a monograph “Chan Kong Choy Hong Lou Meng Research Books Collection Catalog and Review” (2015), published over ten articles in various journals, namely, “Hong Lou Meng Xuekan (Studies on A Dream of Red Mansions)”, “Cao Xueqin Yanjiu (The Study of Cao Xueqin”, “Hong Lou Meng Yanjiu (Studies on A Dream of Red Mansions)”, “アジア文化 Asian Culture”, and “Journal of Chinese Literature And Culture” as well as in local and international publications. |
