Biography | |
Dr. Lili Yulyadi Bin Arnakim is currently attached at the Department of Southeast Asian Studies, University of Malaya, as senior lecturer. He was the head of the Centre for Latin American Studies (CLAS), University of Malaya from January 2015 to December 2016, and a visiting scholar at Center for Policy Research and International Studies (CenPRIS), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang in 2012-2013. He is a member of Education Bureau for PERWARISAN, Kuala Lumpur. Lili Yulyadi is a former member of expert committee of Islamic Economic Forum for Indonesian Development (ISEFID) and a member of Editorial Board of ISEFID Review, annual journal of ISEFID. He is among the pioneering people who taught the Islamic financial planning in Malaysia and Indonesia, while he is among authorized lecturers to teach an Islamic Banking and Finance in Singapore as he has been approved since February 2006 by the Ministry of Education. Lili Yulyadi received his first degree with honours in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, majoring in (Fiqh Wa Usuluhu / Shari’ah), from International Islamic University Malaysia. The following year he received a double degree with honours in Political Science. Later on, he Joined Master program at the same university, which granted him Master Degree in Political Science by 2001.
He completed PhD program at the Department of International and Strategic Studies, from the University of Malaya. His PhD dissertation entitled “The Impact of Islamic Awakening on Indonesian Foreign Policy, 1993-2004”. On the other hand, he has been appointed as advisor of Islamic financial planners in IARFC (International Association of Registered Financial Consultant, Jakarta). Academically he has taught several subjects namely Western Political Thought, Ideology and Social Change, International Relations Theory, Politics and Governments in Southeast Asia, and Fiqh for Economist at both undergraduate at UIN and IISIP and the postgraduate programme at University of Indonesia (UI). In Malaysia, he was visiting Lecturer at the Department of Southeast Asian Studies for five years since 2007. He was also appointed as co-editor for Jati, and Borneo Research Journal, Journals of the Department of Southeast Asian Studies. He has been writing many book Reviews and articles on Islam, international politics as well as Economics, and involved in several research projects including the field research on Conflict resolution in Southeast Asia, The Impact of the Southern Thai Conflict on the Cohesiveness of Southeast Asian Nations, Indonesia-Malaysia Bilateral relations. His current research projects are Rumpunism, Collective identity in Indonesia-Malaysia bilateral relations, Regionalism in Southeast Asia, and Revisiting Development in Developing Countries; comparative studies between Southeast Asian and Latin American region. His latest books include Regionalism and political development in Southeast Asia, and Dinamika Pelancongan di Asia Tenggara di Alaf Baru published by the UM. |
