Assoc. Prof. Dr. W Mohd Azhar bin Wan Ibrahim obtained a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom in 1991. The first appointment with University of Malaya was in 1991 as lecturer in the Department of Prosthetic, Faculty of Dentistry. In 2002 he was transfer to the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Malaya. He also has Master degrees, Master in Applied Statistic and Master in IT, to support his carrer as a lecturer and researcher. He has served University of Malaya for more than 25 years. During this period he has received 2 outstanding service award from University of Malaya.
His research interests are quite wide-ranging under the general umbrella of biomedical Engineering. Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, Biomedical Device, and Health Engineering are the active area of research. He has supervised a quite numbers of undergraduate and postgraduate researchs. Due to these activities, he has won several research award, has publications in books, conference proceedings and journals. He has also reviewed some journal’s articles for publication and also sometime serve as external examiner for Master and PhD thesis. Apart from that he as some patents underprocess. |
