Biography | |
Dr. Su Wai Mon is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya since September 2021. She obtained her LL.B. (Hons) from Dagon University, Yangon and completed her postgraduate studies, Master of Comparative Laws (MCL), and Ph.D. from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Her Ph.D. emphasises on Malaysian maritime security particularly on maritime law enforcement. Her areas of research interest include Maritime security, International Law of the Sea and Public International Law, Maritime Law and International Trade Law. Prior to joining UM, she started her academic career as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Multimedia University in January 2017 where she taught Public International Law and International Trade and Shipping Law at undergraduate level and research methodology for law at postgraduate level. She also served as the Deputy Dean (Research & Industrial Collaborations) ( March 2021- August 2021) and Editor in Chief of the Asian Journal of Law and Policy (March 2020- August 2021) at the Faculty of Law Multimedia University. Dr. Su as project leader, has successfully secured the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) Grants awarded by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia for two consecutive years 2021 and 2022 for the projects entitled "Formulating a Legal and Regulatory Framework for Protection of Submarine Cables in Malaysia" and "Maritime Cybersecurity: Formulating a Legal and Risk Management Framework in Malaysia" respectively. She has special research interest in Artificial Intelligence and maritime security, cybersecurity in the maritime domain and IUU fishing. |
