Dr. Siddharthan Selvaraj, BDS., MDPH., FRSPH., FPFA., PhD Dr. Siddharth is a distinguished dental lecturer from India, renowned for his research works, dynamic teaching style and innovative curriculum development. Dr. Siddharth has significantly contributed to the advancement of dental education. He currently holds a dental lecturer position at the prestigious Faculty of Dentistry at University of Malaya. Educational Background: Dr. Siddharth earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University - India. He furthered his academic pursuits by obtaining a Master degree in Dental Public Health from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and completed his PhD in Epidemiology from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin – Malaysia, focusing on epidemiological modelling of periodontal disease. His extensive education laid a strong foundation for his dual career as a dental public health specialist and educator. Professional Experience: After completing his PhD, Dr. Siddharth began his teaching career in Dental Public Health Department - AIMST University – Malaysia, His commitment to continuous learning and passion for teaching led him to be appointed as Adjunct Faculty member in Saveetha University – India. He also gives guest lecture on Oral Epidemiology in Asia at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais – Brazil. As a lecturer in AIMST University, Dr. Siddharth has developed and taught a wide range of courses, including Oral Epidemiology, Preventive Dentistry and Ethics in Dentistry. Research and Publications: Dr. Siddharth research interests lie at the intersection of Oral and General Health, particularly in the areas of epidemiology, public health and periodontal diseases. He has published around 35+ WoS ,SCOPUS and PubMed articles in top-tier journals and has presented his findings at various international conferences. Professional Affiliations: Dr. Siddharth is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Tamil Nadu Dental Council (TNDC)- India. He is also a Fellow in Pierre Fauchard Academy (USA) and Royal Society for Public Health (UK). He regularly participates in workshops and continuing education programs to stay abreast of the latest advancements in dental science and education. Awards and Recognition: Throughout his career, Dr. Siddharth has received multiple awards for his contributions to dental education and research. Notably, he was appointed as a Co-Chairperson for AIDEC international conference held in Malaysia and he has received best oral presentation awards in various international conferences. These accolades underscore her dedication to excellence in his field. Community Involvement: Dr. Siddharth is deeply committed to community service. He has organized and participated in numerous dental outreach programs, providing free dental care to underserved populations both locally and internationally. Personal Interests: Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Siddharth enjoys spending time with his family, playing football, and volunteering at local animal shelters. He is also an avid reader and enjoys exploring the latest developments in medical and dental sciences.
