BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Sarah Al-Shareeda has recently joined the Department of Computer Systems and Technology, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaya as a senior Lecturer. Dr. Sarah received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Engineering from the University of Basrah, Basrah, Iraq, in 2004 and 2008, respectively, the M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA, in 2016, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2017. She was awarded the Fulbright Science and Technology Award in 2012.
She served as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering at the University of Basrah, Iraq, from 2008 to 2012. She served as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Bahrain, from 2019 to 2023. She has been a Postdoctoral Researcher with Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, from 2023 to 2026, and a Visiting Scholar with the Center for Automotive Research, The Ohio State University, USA, from 2024 to 2025.
Her research interests include vehicular networks, digital twins, task offloading, edge and cloud computing, authentication and security, reinforcement learning, and AI-enabled cyber-physical systems. Dr. Al-Shareeda is an IEEE Senior Member who actively contributes to IEEE societies and affinity groups and serves as a publication chair and reviewer for leading conferences and journals.
