Associate Prof. Dr. Raja Noriza binti Raja Ariffin has a Bachelor’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of Southwestern Lousiana, Lafayette, USA. She received her Master’s Degree from the California State University, Fresno, USA. In 2006 she completed her doctoral Degree in Planning at the University of Nottingham, UK. She has held several administrative and management positions at the faculty level, among others, Director of International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA), Acting Dean, Deputy Dean (Undergraduate), and Head of Department at the Faculty of Economics and Administration. She was also the Coordinator for Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration, a programme collaboration between the Faculty of Economics, Universiti Malaya and the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) in training the cadet of the Administrative and Diplomatic Services Scheme (PTD). At the university level, Raja Noriza has held the position of the Deputy Director of INPUMA. While at the national level, Raja Noriza has been appointed as Academic Advisor for Diploma in Public Administration, Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies, University Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and External Examiner/Assessor for Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK). At the international level, she has been appointed as Associate Editor and Advisor of Faculty of Management Editorial Board at the Islamic University of Uganda. Her areas of expertise include policy analysis, transportation, urban governance, administration and urban planning. She has published widely in the area of public policy, healthcare and transportation. Raja Noriza sits on the editorial board of several journals, among others, Institutions and Economies, International Journal of China Studies and Journal of Policy & Governance. She has reviewed many manuscripts including those of WoS journal. She has also been appointed as evaluator of several research grant schemes. In term of supervision, Raja Noriza has successfully completed supervising more than 60 students including eight Doctoral Students. She has taught several subjects at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Among the courses taught are Urban Management, Planning Administration and Community Development, Public Administration and Politics, Public Sector Management, Metropolitan Planning, Local Government and Industrial Relations. Raja Noriza is active in consultancy work. Among the consultancy work that have been completed are Study on Express Bus Demand and Supply in Peninsular Malaysia for Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD), Study on Taxi Demand and Supply in 6 Urban Areas for Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD), Traffic Impact Study for Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya, The Plus Highway: A study on the Plus Factors for Users and the Economy for PLUS Sdn Bhd, and Laporan Sosial Malaysia for Institut Sosial Malaysia. |
