Dr.Revadi Govindaraju is a senior lecturer and Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist-Head & Neck Surgeon at the Department of ENT, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. She obtained her basic medical degree from University Putra Malaysia in 2002 and served in Sarawak General Hospital, Borneo as a medical officer in various surgical units namely pediatric surgery, general surgery, and ENT from 2002-2006.
She pursued her post-graduate training in ORL-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Malaya from 2006-2010. Post-training, she worked as an ENT specialist in Hospital Ampang, Selangor, and subsequently underwent a 3-year training in Rhinology under the Malaysian Ministry of Health subspeciality program. The training included a one-year tenure of research fellowship in Adelaide, Australia with the world-renowned sinus surgeon Professor PJ Wormald. Her main research involved microscopic dissection and endoscopic image capture covering all aspects of advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, anterior skull base surgery, and endoscopic lacrimal surgery for which she was awarded a fellowship by the esteemed.
Subsequently, in 2018, Dr.Revadi joined the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur as an academician cum clinician. She is actively involved in the undergraduate and postgraduate clinical teaching and research activities in her department and is the department’s research and thesis coordinator. Her main areas of research interest are chronic rhinosinusitis, sinonasal tumors, endoscopic skull base surgery, the anatomy of the paranasal sinus and skull base specifically the 3D-anatomy of the ventral skull base, skull base disorders, and orbital and endoscopic lacrimal surgery. Her research works have been published in peer-reviewed journals, chapters of skull base surgery book and also presented in local and international conferences. Besides coordinating and co-mentoring local and international fellows for the Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery fellowship program, she is also involved in organizing scientific meetings and workshops. Among others, she is actively participating as an invited facilitator/demonstrator in the basic functional endoscopic sinus surgery and the advanced skull base cadaveric workshops, and the Silent Mentor program.
Dr. Revadi is an active member of the Malaysian Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. She is the current Honorary Treasurer of the society and has represented the society in international meetings and has notably served as its Honorary Secretary in 2012/2013.
