Dr. Revadi Govindaraju MD (UPM), MS (ORL-Head & Neck Surgery)(UM), Fellowship in Rhinology (MOH, Malaysia & Adelaide) Dr.Revadi Govindaraju is an associate professor and consultant rhinologist at the Department of ORL, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. After serving in Sarawak General Hospital, Borneo as a medical officer in various surgical units she pursued post-graduate training in ORL-Head & Neck Surgery. Subsequently, she underwent a 3-year training in Rhinology under the Malaysian Ministry of Health subspeciality program. The training included a one-year tenure of research fellowship in Adelaide, Australia with the world-renowned sinus surgeon Professor PJ Wormald. Her main research involved microscopic dissection and endoscopic image capture covering all aspects of advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, anterior skull base surgery, and endoscopic lacrimal surgery for which she was awarded a fellowship by the esteemed. Dr.Revadi later joined Universiti Malaya as an academician cum clinician. She is actively involved in the clinical teaching and is the ORL post-graduate coordinator and has been one of the writers for the ORL national post-graduate curriculum. She also co-mentors local and international fellows for the Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery fellowship program. Besides the anatomy of the paranasal sinus, skull base and the the orbit, her reserach interest also incluses rhinosinusitis, sinonasal tumors and endoscopic skull base surgery. Her research works have been published in peer-reviewed journals, chapters of skull base surgery book and also presented in local and international conferences. Apart from organizing scientific course and cadaveric workshops, she actively participates as an invited instructor in the basic functional endoscopic sinus surgery and advanced skull base cadaveric workshops. Dr. Revadi is an active member of the Malaysian Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. She is the current Honorary Treasurer of the society and has represented the society in international meetings and has notably served as its Honorary Secretary. |
