He is the Head of the Maritime Law, Policy and Governance Unit at the Institute of Ocean and Earth Sciences (IOES) and a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, both at Universiti Malaya. With over 11 years of experience in litigation, corporate law, and in-house practice, he has consistently been recognised for his performance excellence and contributions to the legal industry, particularly in dispute resolution within the commercial and corporate sectors, as well as in environmental law. He was recently appointed as an Expert for the Group of Experts on Ocean Literacy in the Western Pacific (WESTPAC) under UNESCO. He has worked in legal practice and served as in-house counsel for a water company in Kuala Lumpur, where he held roles as a Regulator and Litigation Senior Associate. He subsequently joined Deloitte Malaysia, a Big Four firm, as a Senior Consultant in the Indirect Tax team. He is currently pursuing a PhD in the International Law of the Sea and Environmental Law. He also regularly provides consultancy services to the Department of Irrigation and Drainage and the Legal Affairs Division of the Prime Minister’s Department. |
