Dr. Mayeen Uddin Khandaker obtained his Ph.D. in Nuclear and Radiation Physics from Kyungpook National University, Korea on 2007. He obtained his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees (major in Physics) from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, and stood First Class First position. He started his career as lecturer of Physics in the International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh. During his postdoctoral studies at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, he worked on the determination of the optimum production parameters of medical and industrial radionuclides using variable energy cyclotrons. Later as a Nuclear Scientist, he worked on Benchmark of Nuclear Spallation Models at the International Atomic Energy Agency, Austria. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Physics in the American International University-Bangladesh. From 2010 to till date, he is working as an Associate Professor of Physics in the University of Malaya, Malaysia, whereas he is teaching nuclear, radiation and health physics to BSc and MSc students. Throughout his research activities to till date, he has published more than 120 research papers in Science citation indexed journals including one article in Nature. His current h-index 18 with a total citation of 1120. Dr. Mayeen is very interested in the production, detection and applications of radionuclides in nuclear medicine and industries. Nowadays, he is working on cyclotron production of medical radionuclides for diagnostic and therapeutic applications, Assessment of radioactive- and metals toxicity in food and environmental samples, Synthesis of nano-structured materials for neutron sensing, and Development of optical fibre thermoluminescence dosimeter for environmental monitoring etc. He already presented his research results as an invited and contributed speakers in many international conferences held in various places in the world such as USA, UK, Japan, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, India etc. Already 5 PhD and 10 MSc students (4 PhD, 2 MSc are on-going) awarded post-graduation degree under his direct supervision. Dr. Khandaker received international award ‘Who is who in the world for the years of 2014, 2015 and 2017’. He is serving as reviewers of many reputed journals published by Elsevier, Springer, RSC, Sage, Taylor and Francis etc. He has also been awarded as one of the most valued reviewer by the Elsevier for the year 2016. |
