Biography | |
Ir. Dr. Mo Kim Hung is presently an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. Prior to that, he obtained his PhD (with distinction) in the field of structural engineering and materials from Universiti Malaya in 2015 and thereafter served as post-doctoral researcher and senior lecturer in the same university. Dr. Mo is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council United Kingdom, Chartered Building Engineer with the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) and Professional Technologist in the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). Dr. Mo has over 10 years of research experience and his primary research interest is in the area of concrete materials technology, focusing on eco-friendly cement and concrete using recycled by-products, carbon capture in construction materials, alkali-activated materials and lightweight concrete. To date, he has authored/ co-authored more than 120 articles in top-ranked WoS journals, 5 book chapters, and numerous conference papers. His current h-index stands at 36 in WoS. His name is included in the list of World’s Top 2% Scientist (2019, 2020 & 2021) by Stanford University and published by Elsevier. Dr. Mo has also been a recipient of several exhibition awards, service awards and especially recognized for his outstanding contribution in reviewing. He has been invited to deliver keynote talks and presentations in international conferences, seminars as well as workshops. He is also the principal investigator in local and international research grants amounting to more than RM 800,000. In addition, Dr. Mo is engaged as consultant for various companies in industry projects related to cement and concrete materials throughout the years. Dr. Mo is currently an Associate Editor with the European Journal of Environmental and Civil Engineering, Editorial Board member in 3 WoS journals, Guest Editor in 3 special issues in WoS journals, and serves as reviewer for more than 100 different journals. In addition, he contributes actively to the local and international engineering communities, namely as member in the Department of Standards Malaysia’s Technical Committee on Cement (TC/D/25), RILEM TC-291 AMC and MCP, ACI Malaysia Chapter, as well as serving as scientific and organizing committee in several international conferences and engineering-related student competitions. He is also recently appointed as a member of the Young Scientist Network-Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM) for 2022-2025. |
