Biography | |
Dr. Iskandar Abdullah received his BSc (Hons) in Chemistry in 2008, and a PhD degree in 2015 from Universiti Malaya. Then, he pursued a postdoctoral career at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, University of Manchester, United Kingdom undergoing enzymatic research project utilising horseradish peroxidase. His research interest includes organic synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry (drug design & discovery), and computational chemistry (molecular modelling). Later, he joined Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya in late 2016 as a senior lecturer. He received the Best Team Presentation at the 4th HOPE Meeting in Tsukuba, Japan in 2012 and two-time Asian Core Lectureship award in 2016 and 2017. He is also a recipient of the Erasmus+ Higher Education Mobility Program in 2019 (Ca’ Foscari Venice, Italy). Currently, he is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM), YSN-ASM affiliate, CENAR and Drug Design and Development Research Group (DDDRG) Universiti Malaya. Currently, he is the Director at the Graduate Employability and Career Centre, Student Affairs Department. |
