Ling Tek Soon is a senior lecturer at the Institute of China Studies, University of Malaya. Apart from teaching, he is currently working on a UMRG project in University of Malaya, entitle “Abode of Dead, Depository of Knowledge and Contested Realm: A Study of Chinese Cemeteries in Malaysia”.  Ling Tek Soon received his BA (Chinese Studies) and MA (East Asian Studies) from University of Malaya in 1997 and 2002.His thesis was titled “The Fundamental Ideologies of Deng Xiao Ping Conceming Reformation and Renewal since 1978" (Idea-idea Asas Deng Xiaoping terhadap Dasar Reformasi danPembukaan sejak tahun 1978). He was a tutor in the East Asian Studies Department, University of Malaya from 1998 to 2000 while working jointly as a n executive editor in The "Rosa Sintesis" Journal published by Centre of Malaysian Chinese Studies.  In year 2001, he worked as a Mandarin Lecturer in UiTM, Pahang. Subsequently, he  went on to pursue a Ph.D at Tsinghua University, Beijing in 2007. He received a doctorate degree in 2011 with a thesis titled “The Political Idea of Yangdu”. In the same year, he was appointed as a lecturer  in Institute of China Studies, University of Malaya. 

PooBalan received bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Technology Malaysia, Skudai in 1999; Master’s degree (MSc) in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol, England, UK in 2005 and Ph.D. degree (fluid mechanics & heat transfer) from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK in 2010. He also served as postdoctoral-Research Assistant at the University of Aberdeen in 2010 to work on the research related to nuclear power plant thermal-hydraulic related problems. PooBalan has industry experience as Process and Product Engineer at AIWA Electronic Sdn Bhd, Johor, Malaysia and Venture Electronic Sdn Bhd, Johor, Malaysia from year 2000-2004. PooBalan has received professional engineer certifications of Chartered Engineer (CEng) from the Institution of Mechanical Engineer (IMechE), UK and IR (PEng) from Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM). PooBalan expertise is within the field of study related to fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermal fluid, pump characteristics & application and heat exchanger. PooBalan is presently working on project related to aeration technology for aquaculture, development of venturi nozzle for mixing of water & air, development of micro-nano bubbles generator, development of compact heat exchanger based on open-type metal foam. PooBalan has a patent and a copyright on micro-bubble generator nozzle and technology for water aeration & mixing. PooBalan is also actively involved with community related project such as knowledge-transfer programs and activities on urban aquaculture farming. A model of an urban aquaculture farming has been developed at Sect 3, Petaling Jaya residential house and at Broga Hill, Semenyih based on effective & suitable aeration technology and Biofloc (healthy microorganisms).

Dr. Hanira Hanafi is currently a senior lecturer at the Department of Shariah and Law, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. She holds a PhD in Islamic Finance from the Durham University UK (2012) and Master of Comparative Law  (2003) and Bachelor of Law (2002) from International Islamic University Malaysia. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2004. Her research interest lies broadly in the area of Islamic Finance, law and public policy particularly related to Digital Economy and Person with Disabilities. She has also published numerous articles in national and international journals on those areas. She has also contributed in term of administration as a Deputy Director of Ungku Aziz Centre for Development Studies from 2017 until 2019.
